It's the leaves that convert the light into energy (photosynthesis). Cutting them off means photosynthesis won't occur, so the plant won't take up nutrients, which results in a plant that can't and won't grow (or grow extremely slowly, especially because after cutting leaves off it also has to take time and expend energy to heal).

I'd leave it alone and let it regroup. It will take some time but it should be OK, as you have left some leaves at least.

Five weeks you should be able to flip them. Dont cut any more off that poor girl. Let it grow. It will take longer but it should recover and get thick and bushy. You probably stunted the plants growth until it is able to get some leaves to take in all the light and function properly. She will recover though
