Hello everyone,

I've finally gotten the recommendation from all of the great folks at 11th State. I can't begin to tell you how amazing I felt after leaving that place, like I was walking on a cloud. They COMPLETELY understood my condition and actually said I did a great job gathering all of my medical history, I can't thank them enough. I feel as though a burden has been lifted off my shoulders and a door of relief has opened to me. So I sent in my application the following day, and I'm praying that everything goes smoothly from here on out, and I hope I get approved sooner than later..

I'm preparing now for the day I get my official card, so I am all ready to go. I've already started acquiring some supplies such as reflective poly (anyone use this?) and pots, and I will be purchasing my lighting within the next few days. I've been speaking to the good people at my local grow shop and they have been very helpful so far. I'm looking at a 5x5 space in my room, with my twelve 3 gallon pots, and a 1000 watt HPS light. Any tips for me? I'm not sure if I should get the vented light and fan or just see how it goes with the regular light, as winter is coming and I'm in the basement, so it should be cool. I also cannot express enough my concern for safety, as I share my home with others, both human and canine alike . It sucks because I don't have a heck of a lotta money, but I don't want to sacrifice quality or safety for the sake of saving cash. I'm gonna be looking for some nice clones too, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd very much appreciate it. I have so many questions and things going through my mind but I just wanted to introduce myself, and say I'm happy and things are looking positive now.

Thanks

-JEOS

Dang I was way over full with 6 in 5x8. lol went outside with ten in a 10x22 green house and now it's way over full. Guess it depends on what your going to do.

Jeos. You have the recommendation and the paperwork has been sent in. Watch your bank account, you are officially legal; the day they cash the check. If you read the law word for word, you're actually legal the day the Dr gives you the recommendation but to be safe, wait till they cash the check. The "approval" process is over, the health dept doesnt make any decisions, they merely run the program, your Dr made the decision,......you're in the clear bud, the card now is just a formality.

What stumps is saying about size is that you won't fit 12 plants in the one smaller tent. You can, but they would have to go directly to flowering with no veg time (small, small plants that generally produce one decent bud, nothing else)

Depending on how much you medicate, if you look into dedicating a small space elsewhere for the vegging stage, you can establish a small perpetual grow which will have you pushing out one or 2 medium sized plants a month (roughly 2-8 ounces depending on your skill level)

2 big tips for learning....POUR over the beginners section. Ask questions.

If you create a facebook account (we all use grow names, I'm "RICH Budz") I can get you in our grow group and you can get immediate answers from some of the experienced growers in the state. A wealth of support in the group, if you decide to come in, find me and friend me and we'll take it from there.

Thanks LBH! I was probably figuring on flowering them immediately or close to it, as I have limited space. Perhaps I should reconsider making this a little bigger..I need to harvest the optimal amount and make the most of my area. I'll definitely start up that facebook account.

That allows you about 4 x 3-4' plants. (so don't veg them any bigger than 2, 2.5')

har har har. unfortunately i can't dedicate my entire living room to a ganja plantation, believe me, i'd love to. i'll see if i can stretch the space a little bit. originally i was going to make it it 6 by 6, but i had to shorten my dimensions because i forgot i had a ceiling fan...hahaha.

I was getting about a qp from 7 plants inside. moved outside last year and got 4x that out of one plant. I'm olny vegging and cloning indoors atm. You might yeild more bud with less plants in the area you have. good luck.

thanks for the input stumps, i think you're right about less plants. i set up the poly today in a 5x5 area juts as I had originally planned, and it appears to be of a sufficient size for my needs at this time. (hopefully c:) i will probably attempt a couple of decent sized plants rather than more small.

My personal suggestion would be to scrog 2 plants, 4 weeks apart (using 8 week strains)

Jeos,

I'm on my first grow also. I didn't SCROG (yet, when I'm permanently setup I'm going to). I did however use LBH's topping tutorial on one of my plants because it was reccomended by many and I wanted to try it out. That plant is very nice. It came out nice and compact compared to my other two. My flowers are tiny right now but I can't wait to see how this one comes out compared to the rest. Your best bet is printing those tutorials and sticking them in a binder. :)

The Online Version of Releaf Magazine is Exactly that,A Virtual Magazine..But me personally.I Rather Have the Hard Copies. But The online magazine is great so you can see the newest issue as soon as it's available, or to be able to allow others to view it IF they cant get a HARD copy.

Thank you to all, I'm glad to feel welcomed in here. I'm sure this will all be a learning experience and I am gonna try my best to do things correctly. I'm hittin up the shop tomorrow, and I'm definitely going to vent. I was thinking if all goes well after my first medicine crop, I can expand my area to 9x5. (thats 9 long and still 5 wide). Or, I could use the extra little space as a veg area and just get a continuous crop going. I've also been advised to top my plants to increase yield, so that will be considered for sure.
