So what is going on in ny? I didn’t read the thread.
Read the links, it looks like Oct 5th we're all good.

That's what I'm seeing the penal code. I'm pretty sure that this has been the penalty aince they passed the MRTA, which leaves me kinda kicking myself for waiting...
Do you have a link to the penal code where it says this?

Good question, I don't know if anyone knows this yet as the law hasn't even gone into affect yet? I would be surprised if it was a mis/felony for having a couple over. Now 20 over?
Where are you getting '20 over'??

I don’t know how right / wrong this site is but - https://norml.org/laws/new-york-penalties-2/
“Growing over 6 (12 per household) cannabis plants is a class A misdemeanor and is punishable by up to 1 year of imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $1000.”

And https://www.superlawyers.com/ask/new-york/criminal-law/can-i-be-arrested-for-marijuana-possession-in-new-york/a6cf8137-0390-4407-880f-de8598f70bac.html
Awesome, awesome my friend. With going over the limit only being a misdemeanor I think we're going to hear about a lot more medium-large ops..

It was a misdemeanor previously as well, class a, I looked into it before any of these new med laws.. I don’t find that site too accurate because the possession laws are not correct so naturally the rest could also be incorrect

do you have an updated version of all of it? I thought correct info said we could have 5 pounds in possession inside of home. That legal website seemed to say otherwise. Any more links from anyone who knows what's going on are welcome here

I think that site has the old laws but updated parts of it, like the 3oz or less for example.. I know that site is wrong about at least some of the other stuff becasue possession over 3 oz up to 16oz is a violation not a misdemeanor, so when we move lbs around we roll with just under 16oz just incase..

If I had to guess, with all of my general common sense knowledge and limited legal perceptions I'd say these grey areas concerning possession are for the police to use when busting people for harder drugs, to hold the lesser cannabis violations against them to ensure a more sturdy case in court when plea deals are on the table. Just a guess..

so its a 200$ fine if I get caught growing another 20 plants? It also doesn't say anything about needing a medical card to grow. It also says this is info for March 2021. I don't get all of this conflicting info...

lets all of us as fine contributors to changing marijuana law get on the same page and put all of this conflicting information together to weed out the BS for the future of our forum subscribers, so that nobody's left confused and the least amount of us get the shaft..

19. Do all plants count toward the plant limits?

No, only female plants are counted toward the plant limits.

That one threw me for a loop. I also re-read the part about where to obtain seeds. Like they're trying to control that also. LOL. Yeah right.

Glad that's all cleared up. Now how about some solid facts and discernable fine print on growing over the limits and what happens. Anyone? Anyone?

Yeah I giggled when I read that. I wonder when someone is going to clue them in to the recent memo treating them as hemp under the 3%.
