Newbie Master Kush Crop

Hello RIU,
I'm a newbie so I know I'm going to run in to problems so if I keep a Journal maybe I can get some help and possibly avoid some rookie mistakes. I have a small veg cab until my little girls are ready for the scrog cab. In the scrog cab I have two 70 watt hps not the best but they were cheap and I'm just growing 1 master kush. Ok I said one but the thing is I got two sprouts from one MK seed I'll post some pics. I've decided to keep both of them and use a ton of soil and try to keep them apart in the scrog and if it don't work I have more beans so it's cool. I call them Big Sis and Mini She since she is so small. I have a 3 inch 65 cfm fan pulling air through my crappy carbon filter need a new one. I also need a fresh air intake which will be at the bottom the only thing is how do I stop light from getting through it? Any advise on this would help. Enough talk I'll post pics from day 1 until now 6 or 7 days.

Here are the pics of the scrog cab. The bigger of the two has one yellow tip maybe got hot I don't know but she is doing good otherwise. I have a 3 gallon pot I'll be using FF ocean forest. Good news I found a hydro shop not to far away and they are stocked up with goodies. I started them in some organic soil cheap stuff should I transplant in the FF's or is it too early? Any help on that would be great. All I need for the cab is the intake and do some cleaning up, wires and such. So hopefully before too long I will be smokin some MK that I grew can't get much better than that right.

My fan is going to blow up from below the plant I'm hoping it will move the cooler fresh air up thru the plant and then out the carbon filter at the top.

Today I found a bad problem with my other cab it was getting much hotter than I though because like a newbie I had my thermo in the bottom not in with the plants. 95f was the temp I couldn't believe it. I had to move all of them into the new scrog cab that is finished, about time. I have to work on the other cabs heat prob so I can move the other two back in before the scrog really takes off. I also put two more lights in one 23 watt and one 18 watt for some more blue spectrum. So that plus the two 70 watt hps should do the trick I hope. Feel free two jump in and let me know any mistakes I'm making I could use the help for sure. I would really like to do this correctly. Here's the pics! The 3rd pic is some random bag seed so I practice some LST the other two are Master Kush from attitude and they had that shit to me fast no prob. I also got some super lemon haze and three freebies sharks breath rock lock and cole train sweet. Have a good day.

I had to put cfl's in the cab because the two hps get so hot. I have a few ideas to get the heat down if they don't work I'm going with a ufo. Also my buddy said I should flower early to keep the twins from fighting for root space. I'm not really lookin for max yield my first grow I just want to get that far and next one I'll have my cabs dialed in and I'll try to get better and better. Lot of learning to do still. My plants got burned pretty good but they are still growing good the leaves curled up a little but they are a lot better now still curled up a little though but new growth is coming in faster now. I'll get some pics up soon

Ok I made adjustments and I can get the temp down to 82 with 1-hps 70 watts 2-43watt cfls 1 23watt cfl and 1-18 watt floro all 6500k nice cool light. I would like to get the other hps 70 working all together that would do the trick for sure. I have a few more ideas to try and get the heat down some more. Here's some more pics.

Chainseeker i hope you dont mind me stopping in. Those two 70w HPS lights would grow a few pretty good plants. Can you post up some decent pics of your carbon filter setup? What kind of fan do you have exhausting the air? I have seen a few people use a sheet of glass just under their lights. This seals the hot air up the top of the cab and then they just exhaust it all out of that section. My description may have been poor but worth looking into. This air shouldnt need to be filtered either as its sealed from the area with the plants. You can still filter air in and out of the bottom section and thats when you would use the CF. Oh by the way those two seedlings in the one pot... i have never experienced it but most people think its not a good idea. One good plant is better than two stunted seedlings fighting for water and nutes.

You are gonna have to transplant those plants into a bigger pot. a cup won't let the plant grow enough to flower.

Hey RS I don't mind at all in fact thanks for stoppin in.The two seedlings was a crazy thing that happened I got master kush seeds from attitude when I cracked and put it in the cup like magic two sprouts popped up so I think it would be pretty cool to keep em both. You see I love them and don't want any of them to die LOL! I think I'm going to go to the hydro shop and buy a real carbon filter a little pricey but I can't afford any mistakes when it come to smell plus I was told that they have much better air flow. Also I have a 4 inch 110volt 65 cfm metal cooling fan for exhaust I thinking I should get one a little stronger and use this one for intake. I'm also going to get my glass today my plan is to leave it short on one side that would bring fresh up through the plants across my lights and out the exhaust never letting the heat down past the glass if this makes sense it does in my head. I'll post some pics and results later today. Again thanks for stoppin in like I said I'll soak up all the advice I can get.

Plant's look 'alright'. But your stealthy grow cabinet looks better to me personally. Wouldn't mind having something like that. Exactly like the one you got.. all the way down the same dimensions. I could have a much bigger one than that one is.. but that one would be perfect beacuse it doesn't take up much space.. looks very narrow when you look at its length. Very tall, but not too wide.

You make that or buy it?

CPL, cool man thanks for stoppin bye. I actually have another cab for flowering the one in the cup after I transplant. Thanks for the tips though keep em commin. Hey Cpl you should check out siccs party cup challenge you won't believe what he can do in a cup we are talking almost an oz out of a 16 ounce party cup its insane. But I'm not that good so I'll use a bigger pot.

Hey thanks ganjaluvr. I made out of an old dresser i had laying around. So many people have walked right past it some have leaned on it and not one has thought anything about it. I wish I had read stelthy's new thread he is a pro and his cab is super sweet my next one will be so much better after seeing what he can do so check out his settup.

Still having heat issues I hate having to grow in stealth mode. Question if I have an 8 inch fan blowing on my girls can they handle 85-86 deg. I know it's not good but until I can buy some bigger fans it'll be running that hot. So if anyone is reading that has had this type of heat probs I could def use some more input on this thanks all.

not at all. users have shown that lovely plants can be flowered out very sucessfully using party cups. you just have to water the things every 5 seconds, that's where the issue is

Looks like your doing good things. Very stealthy I like that. From everything I have read one of the two plants will die but don't be afraid to try it out. If it works you'll be a hero. Also be careful when selecting glass to use in the cabinet. You don't want a meltdown or shattering because you bought the wrong kind. I'm not sure what type shields heat but do your research first. There are plenty of home made grow operations that have gone up in flames because people put random parts together that coulden't handle the continuous heat. Just a word of caution, best of luck and keep us posted.

Damn dude that sucks. How many r we talkin? I guess i should have done my homework a lil better on the strains I chose. So at what temps were your babies stressed at? Maybe you could post a pic or two for me. Thanks for the heads up king, for now I'll just keep my room under 70 that keeps the temp down to 82.
