Newbie with a Newb Problem

Hi there! I'm just now in the first stages of my very first experiment grow, and I've run into this problem with one of my seedlings getting very weepy. Any ideas?

I don't have much available for financial resources, so I'm just using a 26W CFL to see how things work, I do know I'm going to need much more light, and to keep it closer. I'm pretty sure they stretched because I had the light too far away.

Also, should I rebury the other one to make sure? It stretched too but not quite as much. Pic for opinion.

pick up a 65w from the hardware store or if u have a local hydro store(along with the one u have now) ~$14 then ull be just cutting it....i dont mean to sound like an ass but ur goin to struggle through veg with that one bulb.....let alone once u hit flower

That doesn't sound like an ass, that sounds like logic. I'm not putting out nearly the lumens required for any sort of decent grow, but this is my very first experiment grow, to make sure it's something I can handle before I jump all in and spend money I could invest elsewhere.

EDIT : To clarify, that doesn't mean I'm not going to go spend a measly $14 on a 65W at Ace or something, it just means I'm not going to go buy like a 600W HPS or anything.

If you're going to only do 1 plant, I'd say you could do a 125 bulb for veg and another 125 bulb for flower (both different spectrums) for a grow box kinda grow. If you're gonna try and make a full sized plant you're going to need more than 1 light to reach every part of the plant.

I'm not really sure what the best method for someone like myself would be yet, I'm still experimenting. I've thought about LST and ScrOG, but I'm too new to be comfortable making a decision just yet, I feel I need to learn the plant as a plant first.

Hey John, I'd change the name of your pic you post here. 150 Metal halide lights are less than $100 these days. I'd get one, and you won't have to buy your own smoke.

Why? John is the 8th most common name on the planet. Oh well, I'll do it for the next ones.

As far as my area? I'm in the most dangerous of all places - an apartment, so I have a whole room if I want, but I gotta watch myself, you know.

I'm never opposed to hearing points of view on different methods, as long as a person's willing to answer the questions they make me ask.

Bottom line you need more light, I don't think CFL's are efficent unless your running abundant in which is equivalent to a 150 MH, which is like $75 bucks maybe less depending on where you live

First you have to ask yourself "What is my setup going to be?". How many plants? How big of a grow space? 12/12 or plenty of Veg time?

i agree....and ur going to end up paying the money anyways, u might as well save the space and upgrade

I would suggest an HPS if you can, even if it is a low wattage like mentioned. It can do both phases better than MH can, but it's only if it fits your grow personally.

It's ok, calm down, I'm not a total idiot or anything I promise. John's a common name, I always delete any pics I take of anything even questionable...we're gonna be ok, man. That paranoia of The Man is exactly one reason I'm trying to do this myself, people are getting crazy.

And as a thanks for the advice and warm replies, here's an awesome rat.
