I'd like to know the what k these xml 2's are,they seem to peak in the yellow-orange part of the spectrum going by their graph.

Subscribed, im local to the owner of the company and my dude at the grow store offered them to me for 1k out the door so im considering doing that and getting rid of my 2 magnum xxl hoods that im running right now! My flower room is 6x8 would 2 cover the area, im growing 4 plants in bubble buckets and I oulled 25 zips off of 2 under 1 magnum xxl last go around so now im doing 2 hoods and 4 plants!
this is a guess but I think you would need 5 or 6 for a fully populated 6x8 for even coverage at a decent intensity. pay attention to the PAR Footprint, its very center biased, with one unit handling at most a 3x3

My thing is trying to save on electric, no way 6 of them are cheaper than 2 magnum xxl, with dimmable switchable ballast? Only benefit at this point is heat

I'm not sold on these "1000watt equivalent lights" just a big marketing scheme, too bad you listened to the lies and a 1kw HID light covers a 5x5 area XD

That's the problem,the marketing departments seem to be in charge and not the engineers. I agree about the 5x5 as long as your using top of the line hoods and bulbs,problem is most go cheap and they won't cover properly.

Yep and by the look of it LEDs are just getting more and more expensive which will drive them away from any mainstream cannabis growing. Who is going to spend the amount of money needed to buy a warehouse full of LEDs? I don't think many of these LED makers really have any idea what it's like growing in legal states, if they did they would be trying to make lights that could cover larger areas that were more cost compared to HID lighting, and not trying to sell 1k HID equivalents and magical spectrums. I know ONE dispensary that is trialing heliospectra LX60s and I think they are enjoying them but more as a toy rather than a serious growing means.

I think the cost per watt is actually going down,and if you look at the amount of watts needed,that's also going down. I would think that the amount of panels going for small scale grows far out number what commercial grows would use at this point. Companies chase the biggest customer base,LED will get there and maybe sooner than you think.

Before buying a light is a great time to check this forum. You might also read the last month or so of the stickies here. The last couple years have seen cob based lights obsolete many previous designs. Several members here have started companies to build top quality lights.
Check the advertisers here. Some very good lights are available from Tasty, PLC, GoGreen Johnson, and a couple more that slip my mind right now. Cree and to a lesser extent Vero cobs dominate the market right now. More light with intensity and great spectrums for less money. Most efficient light sources out there.

Sorry for the wait. It's worth it. Just don't put it closer than 2 ft to your plants.... At least not with an how in there I got 3 lbs and 225 grams of wax out of 2 next lights and a hortilux.
The point is not to "replace" a 1k with a 525 led, not gonna happen. The point is to put 1000 watts equivalent hortilux vs NextLight and then talk. That's why I put two . Results were about the same weight but to be honest my next lights were higher potency

If you want 1000000000000 degrees in your tent and fans and exhaust and you know what you're doing, then I say go hortilux. Hps is the way to go. This was an experiment. If you don't wanna spend extra work/money on ducting bucks to spend ducting on top of your hood, to outside air. Also bulb, ballast, etc replacements every harvest (if you realize the light diminish meant) it adds up. They just dropped the price again everyone hates on LEDs cause they buy shit ones. Sorry. Do your research purple guys

I've ran them all I work at a shop and get them for free to test. Plants don't want blue and red. They want white. The sun. Don't have pics but I'm reputable and take my word I've ran them all, black dog, grow blue, Mars, big blue, next lifht
