I know to leave Bloom khaos out right now until I get everything in order or this plant will go nuts Ina bad way but I'm wondering down the road if I can slowly start introducing it when I get on a feed feed tea feed feed flush schedule if it will complicate things. Ehh, I'll flush, start feeding, build some alkalinity up in the soil, do a couple slurries post my results and see how it goes. Like bubba73's implied, No set schedule. Imo as you're getting a few nectar grows under your belt it's probably best to make your own schedule based on your own environment.

Yeah if everything is good with good slurries , use bk .. I would start at 1/4 strength ..

Does anyone know about heavy metals in NFTG?
I remember stumbling upon a independent report analyzing heavy metals. I recall bloom khaos was the main offender. Kelp is in that which is most likely is the source of the contaminate.

since I’m not putting in BK every feeding I’m not too worried about it. I’ve also cut zues (more kelp) down to 5ml since it’s believed that 5ml is all that you need.

Ive heard of some growers trying to limit a lot of sea/ocean based products when they’re having issues with heavy metals showing up in testing.

Dang. I love the BK. Would you recommend anything else I can foliar feed that’ll help the drive the calcium?
5 mL per Gallon or for your whole feeding?

I should probably let go of the Kraken. That’s shrimp and crab shells, I believe.

Thanks for the reply brother.

Word, wait for the others to reply they have more insight. Bubba has been running the line for a long time now.

I don’t know any BK substitute. Not sure if anyone has reversed engineered the“gama” they developed. It’s too fun to play with BK for me to want to drop it. I’d need to do more research on how much heavy metal we really are working with before I’d be willing to cut it out.

my overall goal with growing was to create a better (cheaper) medicine for my family. So I feel confident that with nectar I’m already inputting a superior, more natural nutrient compared to what you can buy.

I wouldn’t sweat the kraken being a big offender. Kelp is the double edged sword, it is a bioaccumulator. So it’s chock full of great stuff and it also picks up the bad stuff.

There is really nothing that does what BK does…. If your looking to push hard , then do more BK …just make sure there is enough of “ fuel” food in that soil to support it … nothing compares to BK And it’s use…. If u wanna feel dangerous foliar and root drench bk ..lol…. Be warned , things can go to shit quick ….

Im no expert by any means but imo If you're having too many heavy metals in your tests I'd be more concerned about your tap water. Last house I was at ppms of my well water was like 500 ppms. It was an old house old pipes and I was also worried about heavy metals. I had to water down my water with distilled. I've noticed if your base water ppm's are on point after you mix your nutrients the pH of the solution is usually around where I want it but do have to adjust it a little If I want an exact ph but it's almost always in the 6 to 7 range.

Thanks fellas. I love NFTG. I just went down a rabbit hole and think I was stressing out too much.

The only thing that I have struggled with now that I’m in flower is my medium is not allowing the food to go down. It’s like it gets stuck, and takes forever. I was doing a little bit of research and I’m wondering if the SLF-100 would help?

Is NFTG suitable for coco coir?

Yep I'm stuck in that same Rabbit Hole bud. I've dealt with the same issue. You're just getting Herculean Harvest crust on the top. Using slf 100 helps break that crust down. I use slf 100 every time I put water in my soil. So when you have that thick crust on top before you water just break it up with a fork or something similar. I've also been told to throw some worm castings on top before you water to help break it down. Hope this helps

Do you use SLF100 every watering and feeding? Or just watering? I also taught about adding more perlite to my future grows, but I didn’t know if that would make a difference.

Have you tried the worm castings?

Yeah but there some prep work that goes into it ….

I use WC , biochair , bokiashia , one shot when I amend soil …. Using WC during grow won’t hurt and as a benefit …

I’m using Promix which they say is soilless peat moss.

When you amend soil do you still use NFTG bottles or just the one shot?

Will the SFL make the food go down easier again?
