No charges for officers who shot woman in back of patrol car

How did a petite 26-year-old woman, handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser, manage to produce a gun and allegedly fire three bullets at two Atlanta officers, who responded with lethal force?

For more than 14 months, the family of Alexia Christian, fatally shot 10 times on April 30, 2015, waited for answers. Friday, they learned those answers may never be forthcoming following a meeting with Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, who told them there would be no charges brought against officers Jeffrey Cook, 54, and Omar Thyme, 34.

Christian, he said, slipped her left wrist from the cuffs and fired three shots toward the officers from the back seat. The officers, unscathed, exited the vehicle and ordered her to drop the gun. She responded by aiming the weapon at Thyme, according to Howard. The officers fired five shots each. Christian was mortally wounded.

I'm day in and day out following the appropriate trends to even try and get a handle on how these events could be misconstrued as anything but racist and typical of white america. It's so sad that people don't understand the privilege and lifestyle they are granted by not being a certain minority in a certain location. How do we trick ourselves into thinking racism doesn't exist in the united states, how long ago was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr assassinated? How many years ago were Jim Crow laws rampant? My parents remember segregation at their high schools, and I'll remember the rampant racism in the 90's till now. Good for you for making these posts.

They are asking me to believe that she slipped out of her handcuffs, had a gun in the backseat with her, fired 3 shots at the pigs who were sitting in the front seat and hit NO ONE from point blank range, the cops get out of the car and BEFORE they return fire they order her to drop the gun. the movie "The Naked Gun" is based on a less ridiculous premise.

Here is the guy who decided not to charge or prosecute the police officers:

i'm surprised desert douche, whose twin brother is a jar of mayonnaise lying in the dirt, was able to stop handjobbing his cop buddies long enough to type one message, much less two.

I'm not a fan of cops by any stretch of the imagination, but let's analyze this

-slipped out of handcuffs

Totally plausible

-had a gun in the backseat with her

Totally plausible

-fired 3 shots at the cops without hitting them

Seems unlikely to me, but again, totally plausible

-cops order her to drop the gun before they returned fire

Completely unlikely, I don't believe that and it wouldn't bother me if they did or not if she had already fired off 3 rounds

Are we just going to conveniently ignore this:

"None of that was captured on video because the back seat camera was turned off. Howard’s investigation “revealed loopholes in the (standard operating procedures), which did not require Atlanta police officers to video back-seat incidents like the Christian shooting,” says a statement from the district attorney’s office."
