Noob question about lights

Basically 6 days ago I found a seed while rolling and I decided to start on this journey. Now just to make things clear, I am a complete noob and the only knowledge I have on the subject is from some reading that I have done in the past few days.

The seed is of the white widow strain if this helps in any way. Being in self-isolation somewhere in the mountaints I can't really buy any other resources so I would like to know how to use the resources that I have in an optimal way for this lil plant to grow healthy and maybe sometime in the future even make some clones of it.

Now, about my noob setup: Being in a very nice location I benefit from lots of sun but at night it gets very cold, usually around 2-7° C, so growing the plant outside for at least the next 1-2 months is out of discussion I think. What I can do is move the pot outside or at the window for it to benefit from the sunlight during the day, and when it gets dark put it under a light for it to complete its 20 hours light cycle before I give it 4 hours to sleep. Now the main reason I started this thread is to ask you which of the lights that I have I should use. I have a CFL 2700K of 20W which from what I read so far is way less than enough for one plant and a fairly more powerful Led light(17W which outputs 120W) with a CRI of 95 (might be fake?) and also 2700K. The problem is that the led is a normal led light, not a grow led light, so I am not sure wether it works for growing.. there is no PAR indication available on the led's box so I wouldn't know if it's suitable or not for growing. Should I use the 20w cfl or the 120w led?

Also, another question I would have is wether I should move it outside and if yes, when?

I forgot to mention the plant is already in its 5th day of growth, and I have been using a 20-4 cycle since the beggining, with a combination of sunlight(when available) and artificial light.

Any help an advice would be highly appreciated!

Don’t even worry about “ par “ values on screw in bulbs ... you would need a hundred to even bother with numbers.
Your choice of light dictates your end result.... if give plant weak light you get weak results. IMO running any and everything, I would run it 24/0 to give a sliver of hope.

That attitude won't get you far here man. You will catch more flies with honey, lol.
You are right, had a rough day, sorry for that.

Thanks for the advice, I do get a lot of sunlight on it during the day, but I will switch to 24/0. In your opinion which of the 2 lamps do you think is the better worse?

A 17w lamp puts out less than 17w ............... don't buy falsely advertised cheap LEDs from Amazon.
Happily it s not from Amazon, eventhough I still don't trust it. Though, how can a 17w lamp put out less than 17w.. I thought the whole idea of led lamps is putting out more consuming less, in this case consuming as of 17w while putting out 120w.

Like sarahJane said, 17w is 17w, the equivalent bit is in comparison to an incandescent bulb, its not relevant to this conversation.

Use both the cfl and the LED and then get a couple more of those LEDs or a better light.

For the sake of this topic with those lights you want 50w-60w per square foot of space/plant your lighting.

Thanks for clearing it out for me! I'll try that

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I agree with everyone. Bag seed is a gamble that you probably won’t win, trust me I tried it. Renfro hit the nail right on the head with his comment. Not only are you already at a disadvantage with the seed, but the poor lighting will just add more insult to injury. Not telling you to not do it, just don’t expect anything great or even mediocre in the end. Appreciate the fact that these guys are giving you what might seem harsh, but it’s the truth you need to hear to save you time and heartache in the end. Sorry.

I m not having high expectations, don't worry. Not doing it for the weed really. It's more about the fun. It's kind of a new quarantine hobby by now

I've been cloning in my humidifier as my quarantine hobby.
What to do with all the plants ........

The point being missed here, is that people who dedicate their lives to growing this incredible plant are simply telling you to move on, and choose a different hobby, because this one will only result in failure for so many more reasons than you likely care to understand. Grow some vegetables or some shit like that man

Those weather conditions are a bit wonky, what area are are you in (like climate zone ect)?

You have the potential to adjust some things, but you will more than likely need to invest in materials one way or another. A simple 2x4 wood and plastic sheeting greenhouse can make thise night conditions manageable if outdoors is truly an option for you.

It might generate 10w of light and 7w of heat.
Why are you assuming the conversion of 17w of electricity is 100% (or even 50%) efficient?

Why not try something new, learn by doing.

A couple of thoughts, If it's april in your area and it's only 2-7d c, you live in a fairly cold place with a short growing season. Once you move your plant outside, will it be warm enough to go through it's flower cycle before it's too cold? A seed bank site lists white widow as an 8-9 week strain for flowering with outdoor harvest by october.

Keep it simple, don't spend a lot, if you have decent soil, a sunny spot and good quality water, growing marijuana outdoors is easy. It's no more difficult than growing tomatoes. You don't have to grow a 30% thc high yield monster to enjoy growing pot.

Don't let the hermaphrodite issue stop you, seeds are not the end of the world for a hobby grow.

If you wind up enjoy growing you could look into strains suited for your climate and geography for your next grow.

The rule on CFL's are 5000 lumens per square foot.My 65 puts out 4720 so around 70-75 watts cfl will grow 1 plant but must use a high color temperature for veg.5000k and up.Then a week or so after flip to 12-12 you must for best results buy cfl made to flower (color temp of 2700k and add more lights because the lack of hours after 12-12 call for increase and or add a cheap l.e.d. panel.I am experienced at cfl so take my word for it.Also adding a 2700k corn(c.o
b.) bulb some are over 20000 lumens but high,I found a dual spectrum (4200k) 65 actual watt CFL-twist bulbs that works great veg-flower but since manafacting stopped yrs ago I cant find now but this link is the supplemental light I'm adding to my 400 watt mh/hps.Hope I could help.
