Number One Pest Problem this time of year!

Being a former outdoor grower, I thought I would share some wisdom with you guys…

Harvest time is just around the corner! You know what that means! Yep, Rippers! These people are the lowest of low. They will wait until your crop is almost ready and cut it down before you do. Some of these lowlifes will destroy your entire crop simply because they hate you and what you do, while others will just help themselves to your hard earned harvest.

Rippers are why I decided to move my entire crop indoors permanently. My last outdoor crop was completely stolen. Five foot bushes were pulled up and carried away while I was on vacation about 3-4 weeks before harvest.

There are many ways to deter and prevent rippers
  1. Keep your mouth shut! – Don’t tell anyone about your grow. Sometimes the people with the best intentions will blab about your grow to one of their friends. This third party friend likely doesn’t give two shits about you and will jump at a chance of free weed.
  2. Watch your 6! – If you are guerrilla growing, be extra careful going to and from your grow site. Never take the exact same path every time. you will start to leave a trail that is hella easy to see from the sky and it makes it easier for someone to stumble upon your trail. and Watch your back to make sure you aren’t being followed. Stop and familiarize yourself with the sounds around you.
  3. Cameras and Alarms – A Trail Cam or even a fake camera will deter some thieves. The trail cam is motion sensitive and will catch them in the act. You can set up simple alarms like trip wires with bells and cans. When a nervous thief sets off these alarms, they may get scared and leave. Then you have a photo on your trqail cam.
  4. Guard it – Around harvest time, you may choose to camp out and watch. a simple pump of a shotgun will cause most rippers to flee. You could also bring out a dog. Terriers are the best for this, as they bark at anything that enters their area. They will even help keep the rats away.
Unfortunately, even with our best practices, rippers do happen. The best we can do is to prepare better and rebuild.

I came home 4 weeks before harvest, but it was a guerrilla grow, so it could've happened at any time. I knew the risk, but it drove me indoors, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I did outdoors mainly and played with CFLs. After the Rip, I upgraded. :-)

Yep unfortunately rippers are everywhere......pretty much any theif looks at our plants like $ growing on a tree .....which it is But to me it's so much more after taking care of my girls giving them all they want and watching em grow there like my kids lol jk. Sometimes I get bummed after I chop my own girls down .....until I smoke then I'm cool with it. But when someone else has the nerve to come in my garden and steal my medicine and the medicine for others close to me that's the worst damn feeling ever .......so everyone stay safe watch out for those little basterds and happy growing
