I don't use any pesticides of any kind. Strong plants can defend themselves. Besides that, I don't wear outside clothes into the garden and I don't bring people in. My dog hangs out there, but even still, no bugs. If I did have an issue, I would buy Green Lacewings larvae and be done with them. I have used Mighty Wash in the past and still have some, but I haven't used it in a while. The last time I had to used it, I was involved in a co-op and one of the guys was a dirty hippie and infected everything with mites. No issues since I got rid of him, and since I am not in a co-op anymore. This makes sense. My humidity has been pretty good so I'm not concerned with spraying then. Do you ever use any kind of insecticide on your plants to prevent spider mites? I have heard a few horror stories. Hey, a free lighter is cool. I'm happy with anything free. Thanks again for all your insight.
Here is a horror story:
Just before I went to Phish at MSG in NYC for a NYE I had a friend carry those little bastards over to my grow without knowing. I was gone for four days and knew they were gonna be thirsty when I got home, what had happened was much, much worse. They were all dropped over and COVERED with webs. The leaves were brown and shriveled, it was fucked. I grabbed a Shop-Vac and sucked up as many webs (and those little fuckers) as I could. They still had another 4 weeks to go so I figured I would try to save them. I got lucky. I only lost a couple, but it was tough to get them back to life and probably added close to another 3 weeks to their flower time. Oddly enough, none hermied. Keep in mind, if you see one, there are at least 100 you don't see. Don't let this happen to you!
**Always wear clean clothes into your garden and don't bring anybody in that has been near a garden or plants.**
