that is strange. i used ff grow big for veg and am now using ff big bloom, and my plants have seemed to have no deficiencies. while i'm not growing hydro, i'm using b'cuzz cocosubstrate, which is devoid of nutrients. i did mix in a little bit of earthworm castings for good measure, but i think that's pretty much the same stuff that's already in the ff nutes. good luck figuring out your problem!
