you have to be very careful with your watering practices if you jump to a large container the perlite dries fairly fast and you will learn to balance it, if you can start in jiffy pellets too
I would balance the water with the Nutes before I pour it over the block... any brands you think would give really good results, a lot of people have told me since I’m starting out, the jack321 is pretty basic and easy to manage...

I use mega crop, to lower the N in flower I sift the white calnit balls out (an extra step but worth it) I then run it through an old coffee grinder to make a super fine powder. I got a 22lb bag for 30$ so this doesn't really affect much. average dose is 5grams so this will last me many moons

Do you think it would work well with the perlite only medium?

I dont use the maximum dose (i topped out this run around 5.6grams)and you will need Epsom salts , but that is cheap

I was thinking buying a cheap pump where I can suck the left over water and flush down the toilet
One my best investments was a cheap small wet/dry shop vac from Costco. Like you said suck it up and dump in the toilet.

This^^^^^. I started out using eight different bottles of Roots Organics, went to Jacks 20-20-20, then to their Citrus blend and finally 321. No regrets, simple and works great. Have been using it for years now.

Thanks, yeah... many people have said both megacrop and jack321 are both efficient and work really well... plus cheap and manageable... do you still use cal mag and Epsom salt with it?

I veg 30 days and go into 12 /12 but now I'm going to run prolly 45
I was thinking fim at 6th node and wait a week, then switch... I was thinking maybe that would be about 5 weeks total? Something like that? I’m having a hard time trying to map that out since I only have a 4x4 and don’t want to complicate my grow space, but I do want to use as much as I can so I can get the best yield that I can obtain... so the math is a little confusing there

veg time depends on plant health. get some healthy plants living and growing then you can worry in terms of weeks
sometimes improper watering/feeding can stunt plant growth this will change your time table

Mmm okay... I understand... just have to wing it and see how long it takes for the nodes, the strength, and how the tent is filling up before I switch...

Remember

They can DBL or triple in size after you flip, so be sure you plan for that
I’m going with big bud from sensi seeds, allegedly they don’t grow too much... figure I can veg maybe a maximum of 2 feet... maybe the most it will double to 4 feet, and my tent is 6’7 so I think it will be okay... hopefully
