hey guys, so the plants are 4 and a half weeks old. I have topped them and also am training them for mainlining. do you think it’s time for the first top dress? thank you
I'd just do couple tablespoons for now (each pot) so yes for me, see what others say. Looking dam good.

what size pots are they and how full?
its 1 tablespoon (15ml) per gallon of medium.... package instructions say once every 4 weeks, but I try to topdress every 3 weeks.
just hope you dont run out of gas in the tank before the topdress starts kicking!
half 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 is ok now , I'd say, but 1/4 cup each is 8 TBSP total, right...

You don't want to run out of gas is right. The instructions on the packaging are for best case, optimal scenarios (are we blasting it with 1500 ppfd and using Co2?). Most growers advise in only using half the doses recommended (for us home growers). I would use half and if you did see a little problem then a (quick fix) liquid solution like Neptunes Harvest would be idea. Our plants are tiny compared to the trees they grow outdoors so be careful with the amount you add in the soil.

I want to use the Gaia Green bloom at some point, but the purple stems on the OG Kush (left) is telling me I have an abundance of Phosphorous in the soil, don't want to over do it there any more than I have too. relying on a separate amendment lower in the npk ratios, (2-5-5). The Gaia Green 4-4-4 has carried me all the way to the flip. good stuff.

hey just a sunday update for you guys :)

plants are 6 weeks old from seed , I topped them all and mainlined some of them. Due to that some are drinking more water than others which is not ideal. gave them a top dress 5 days ago 1/4 cup of each 444 284 and EWC . Just watered them and some don’t seem overly happy (dropping a bit). I took clones a few days ago and will be flipping these guys in the next couple of days. RH @60ish Temp @26celcius

what do you guys think ?

cheers

lost a bit of control of humidity last couple of days dropped to 50 but back around 60

temp around 26 (79)
They have some really good color, maybe bump up the humidity just a little. haRD TO TELL IF YOUR OVERWATERING BUT WHEN TIPS DROP LIKE THAT IT'S USUALLY THE CASE.

I think it might be the overwatering , bottom right plant was topped 3 times more than the others so lost a lot of plant mass , that pot is always heavier than the others when I water. also the top dress might be giving it a bit of nitrogen toxicity ?

Lol, sorry. Those are ten gallon grow bags. My point was that instead of mixing in the Gaia Green at 3 TBSP per US gallon, I mixed at 3 TBPS per one-gallon-plant-pot, which is around three quarters of a gallon. In the beginning, there were symptoms of overfeeding because of this, so I had to be careful going forward after that. Next time I grow, I'm going to mix at 3 TBPS to a proper US gallon.

The plants are bigger in front of me than they look in the pic, the far one in the back corner is over 40" above the soil.
Let's drop the tbl spoon talk..

Its simple, 1/2 cup per 5 gal pot every 4 weeks..

That mix keeps my plants happy..

So one of my pots gots some really dark green leaves going on, probably overdid it with the nutes a little..lol. I couldn't tell until I plucked some off this morning and walking to the kitchen trash can is when I noticed how dark green the leaves were. No leaf tip burn (none yet anyways) so I'm probably pushing the envelope big time here. Safe to say I'm good for another 3-4 weeks without anymore top dressing. :weed: The soil is strong with this one. :bigjoint: (I'm 3 weeks into the early flower stage, stretch just finished)PXL_20230804_191356895.jpg

What? You’ve got leaf tip burn all over this pic. My understanding is that with Gaia this is ideal as you’re pushing the nutes as far as they can go without causing any real damage.

oh I've seen leaf tip burns...this is nothing (I don't see what your seeing). and you are right, a little leaf tip burn is nothing to cry home about. The dark green leaves is telling me not to add any more nutes, nitrogen toxicity is not good during flower, so gonna be diligent in my future feedings.
