Today I'm delivering a truckload of empty cans to Blake's Hard Cider Co. in Armada, MI

I've delivered/picked up from a few breweries here in Michigan -
Short's Brewery in Elk Rapids
Founders Brewery in Grand Rapids
Bell"s Brewery in Kalamazoo

I love going to the breweries, I don't know why but it's a good feeling driving around with a truckload full of beer lol

I'll get pictures later today

In a side note, my Garmin DeZl truck GPS just quit working yesterday, I was pissed off about that. I haven't even had it 18 months and it cost $300. It wasn't very good anyway, it wouldn't reroute if I had to take a detour, it would just tell me to turn around. Ok, like I can just swing my semi truck around on 8 mile road in Detroit lol. I ordered a new Rand McNally truck GPS last night, I hope this one is better.

And here's a pic I forgot to post a while ago, I was parked next to this truck at a Costco distribution center out by Detroit. Super nice and clean Peterbuilt. I'm not sure what engine he had in his truck, but it sounded really good

I'll be heading out west this weekend! This will be my first time going west of Mississippi river and I'm pumped lol. Going to pass through St Louis and see the arches hell yeah

Destination El Reno, Oklahoma. I'm leaving Saturday morning from our yard in Grand Rapids, Michigan doing a relay to one of our OTR drivers, I'm bringing him a loaded trailer so he can run back home to California to be with his family for Thanksgiving. We'll switch trailers at the Love's truck stop and I'll come straight back to Michigan

Already have my route planned, this is going to be awesome

So I made it so far to Cuba, MO today, about 520 miles from where I started.

Got a pic coming into St. Louis, sorry it's not the best, it was kind of busy and I had to pay attention to what lane to be in

I'm at a Midwest Travel Plaza right now, I'm shutting down for the day and relaxing in the bunk with my dog then around 4-5pm I'm going inside the plaza and getting something to eat at this Dottie's restaurant inside, then I'll walk my dog and feed her.

I have to go about 440 miles yet to the truck stop in El Reno, OK to meet the other driver, I'll leave around 3-4am tomorrow morning

Shit sitting here bored lol, I dozed off for about 45 minutes chilling with my dog. It's cold and rainy here right now, I wanted to clean my windows and mirrors but no sense doing it now damnit.

Some random pics today -

Hell yeah

I have about 37,000 lbs of chocolate covered almonds, chocalate covered raisins and yogurt raisins in my trailer for the other driver, it's going to a couple different stops once I switch trailers tomorrow. Smells absolutely incredibly good when you open the trailer doors lol

And the reefer is set at 40° and running on start/stop cycle (it will get 3-4° warmer than 40 before it kicks on and cools back to 40), the chocolate really has to be only kept at 55°, I don't take no chances at my freight getting ruined/damaged

Well, made it to El Reno, OK. Just chilling at the Love's waiting for the other driver to get here, he's running behind today by about 3 hours, not a big deal, I planned on staying here tonight anyways. I'll leave back to Michigan between 12-2am early Monday morning

I drove past Hard Rock casino and resort in Tulsa, OK on the way here
IMG_20201122_094053265.jpg

I'm getting ready to go in Love's and get a shower reserved, that's going to feel good when I can get one, after that I'm going to get something to eat at the Hardee's that's here inside

Rolling through Missouri this morning, north on I-44 on my way back to Michigan. Dense fog the whole way from El Reno, OK all the way up to St. Louis. I was nervous as hell that I'd hit a deer or coyote this morning on I-44 in Oklahoma, wide open, pitch black at 3am, dense fog and speed limit is 75mph. I made it without hitting anything lol.

I'm stopped right now about 250 miles south of Chicago, I stop early so I can start early. I'll leave this truck stop about 1-2am tomorrow so I get back to Grand Rapids around 6-8am in time to deliver what's on my trailer

Some pics from Missouri this morning

Back in Michigan this afternoon, real nice driving weather from Chicago all the way to Kalamazoo, MI all along the I-94 corridor.....lake effect snow lol
IMG_20201124_085418917.jpg

Couldn't see very good as my wipers had ice/snow build up and were pretty much useless

First snow of the year and plenty of accidents and cars in the ditch on the way. Happens every damn time, every year, people forget how to drive in the snow

Probably the best $20 I've ever spent

My cheap little K-cup coffee maker from Walmart. I keep this in my truck and drink fresh hot cups of coffee all day whenever I want
I got these Donut Shop brand dark roast cups right now and they're probably my favorite coffee pods that I've had so far

So bored sitting here at a Love's truck stop right off of I-80 in Utica, Illinois. I did a relay today and am bringing a trailer to swap with one of our OTR drivers, only she's running about 6 hours late lol, I'm about 4 hours into my wait right now though.

Anyways, just got a coffee from inside, Love's house blend and Love's has the best coffee from any truck stop I've been to

Here's some pics of me

Yeah, I had my first accident in the truck yesterday too, I tore the mudflap off my right side drive tires on my truck, I was pissed.

Trying to get on the dock at a shit hole Tractor Supply and there's a big crater pothole right in front of the dock, no other way to get on the dock without driving over it. I seen the other mudflaps laying there and I should've known better, the pothole didn't look too bad so I went to make my move and it felt like I drove off a small cliff when I hit the pothole........sonofabitch!

Boss was cool about it and said he knows it was an accident and that I've always taken good care of his truck so not to worry about it, it's not an issue to put on a new mudflap

This is just a small example of some of the bullshit I deal with at work, shit hole docks are near the top of the list lol
