Older smokers vs younger

Hmm... I'd like to think I'm not that much of a menace to society. I play five instruments and have spent the last four and a half years of my life doing voluntary work. I eat, I pray, I live.... and smoke a shitload of pot.

I have respect and admiration for the plant. I hate people bullshitting about smoking rules and etiquette, I prefer to go by my own common sense, rather than act the way every 13 year old or whatever reads how they should be on the internet. Weed is a medicine for me as well as for my private fun time, and I'm reminded of what's really precious in life.

I like alot of what I believe to be Thai. Sticky, strong-smelling dark-colored and will punish you for trying to get off the couch after one hit, but shower you with heady blessings if you are a good child and ride the magic carpet.

Sometimes I wonder what it'd be like to smoke with my parents if they were still growing. Would they comment on my toking style? Would they go all old skool on me? Would they rate my rolls? Or would they simply be bemused at the astonishing variety of strains out there right now.

Some of them are beautiful, but sometimes I think we should know when to stop tampering or being fussy about stupid things... just appreciate the natural strains for the pros and cons each plant has.

Eh, whatever. If you guys think I'm a little shit because I'm one of the youngest girls here, then well... I'll still respect you old timers and go smoke this, it's been waiting on my keyboard for about 15 minutes now XD

Im 24 and smoke with anyone who wants to blaze up....Doobie style or from some nice glass.Age doesnt really matter to me....Maturity does though.

I'm 33 and we had gas masks when I was 20. Nothing new. Blunts don't do it for me, roll a tip top for all I care or give me some clean glass. Most ppl I burn down with are my age or my parents age. No matter what generation you are, you'll always critique the younger generation. It happened to all of us that made it past 30...Now this is kind of irrelevant here but as far as older generation goes, I was fortunate enough to see an old heads grow. He says that he's been cloning the same W.W. since 1989, four times a year. Now that's old generation. lol

Apparently im alot more mature than my generation....so many people i knew in highschool were just fuck-ups and thought it was "Cool" to smoke weed. They'd binge drink their Coors Light...throw it up..then take drunken rips off of bongs...sometimes breaking them.

No respect...No respect for the growing, harvesting, and smoking rituals.

I'd sit there and light up my humble bowl...and laugh at all these immature Jaggoffs.

They'd hit their "Blueberry Chronic" out of their soda-cans and would act like such dumbasses when stoned. That blueberry shit wasnt even blueberry...just some regular mids sprayed with Tasty-Puff.

Kids today dont respect weed...they dont appreciate all the hard work, effort, and risk put into every single red hair of fine cannabis. They'd rip it up and roll huge blunts with it.....Taking huge puffs of smoke like a cigar...wasting all that smoke.

Seems like kids today just take weed as granted.

My youngest son is 26, LOL.

I don´t care what they do with my weed as long as they pay handsomely for it.

Well, I'm 55 years young and still feel like a little kid in my heart. LOL it is just looking in the mirror now and saying damn you look old. I have been smoking and growing since 1968 in several areas around the world from the southern USA, out west in the USA, Korea and Costa Rica and I believe that a good joint shared among people give you a common thread between the ages. This is true no matter langauge differences, political beliefs or religion but the younger and old must be open to sharing, listening and learning from each other. We all regardless of age have something to share with the other age group provided one side will openly listen.
Do I get upset or pissed off with the younger generations....of course I do, do I have the same feelings of ignorant people my age, hell yes even more so. The biggest thing that bothers me is someone of any age is a closed mind to new or different things. I get a bit impatient with the younger generations mostly because today they seem to have lost the art of thinking for ones self, self responsibility and thinking that when it comes to growing MJ they are on the cutting edge, trying and doing things never tried before. Believe me my generation has tried it before.
In the 60's and 70's we had a revolution with marijuana that has continued through today. We are now where it is a small fine or even legal with a "prescription". Believe me I say today there is not much new in growing at least in the soil area. Things today that are new have been tried before, all the cloning, the nutes (though we do have lots of new high priced stuff developed to keep you and your money apart), lets just say I don't see alot of new stuff being offered that wasn't tried at some point 40 years ago. Today we see books by different people, "The Bibles of Growing" just so I don't offend anyone I won't mention names and get a whole new thread going. Go back and read the "Marijuana Alchemist" or "The Connoissuer's (sorry no coffee and can't spell yet) Handbook to Marijuana". These predate most of the books which are so popular today and show mainly the same ways to grow this wonderful plant. These are the Bibles of growing which I grew up with and still hold near and dear to me.

Ok, all that being said..... I enjoy smoking, talking and listening to people of all ages and their experiences in life and with growing. Just remember the main thing in life and bridging the gap among the ages, RESPECT. This goes both ways and there are lots of older individuals in my age group that are closed to the new and many younger that will not accept the fact that older people have much to offer knowledgewise to the younger. The older have a few new techniques and many methods of growing (hydro and such) which we didn't really have available to use in the 60's and 70's. So we all have things to learn from one another if we are only openminded enough and not too proud to listen.

I'll definitely consider myself a young smoker I guess, but then again probably one of the heaviest! I'm only 19 1/2 and started smoking approx 3 years ago and loved it ever since. Just seemed like my magic medicine since I had problems with appetite and depression. Now it feels like I'm already a veteran, but I love to smoke with anyone! period! ANYONE! Unless they're not matchin becauase I only grow headstash!

Damn a bunch young whipper snappers, they come to your house smoke your shit and tell you how much it sucks.LOL I have smoked longer than most have been alive and I sure miss my red bud. At the young age of 60 I am trying to grow my own for a change. Being a newbe I let my first 3 girls get pregant so it is back to the drawing board for this old fart. Good luck growing for every one young pricks and old farts. LOL

I'm 40 now but when I was a kid I started smoking with the neighborhood stoners at the age of 11 and they were all older than me. They were all in their lower to upper teens at the time.

One day I was downstairs in the laundry room and there was this table my mom folded all the clothes on and I seen something that looked like specs of weed on the table and sure as shit is was weed. I got to thinking I know this isn't mine.

Then just a few days later me and my sister came home from school and my dad was home early from work but he was passed out in the chair. I walked into the kitchen and seen a roach attached to a clip. I new then and there that my pops was a stoner. Well as you can guess the next day after school I starting looking in his room for his stash and it wasn't very long till I hit the Jackpot. He had an old tobacco can filled with weed. I started robbing my dads stash for the next year taking a joint here and there.

To make a longer story short he eventually found out I was smoking weed. He said "you little fucker, that's were all my weeds been going" Well you could imagine, I was in trouble and he did everything he could do to make me quit (but couldn't). My dad wouldn't smoke with me until I hit 13. He couldn't stop me from smoking so he broke down and said " I can't stop you from smoking, so you might as well smoke with me".

My pops and I have been smoking together ever since and I've been the one making sure he's got plenty to smoke for the past 20 years and in that time I've repaid him 100 fold since then for all my thievery. If I got extra he gets it for free.

For as long as I've been smoking, I've smoked with all ages young and old. But now I just like to smoke with a certain few that's in my circle. There all around my age except for my dad of course.

Anyway, you just triggered some old memories I thought I would share with you and the good folks on RIU.

To all you young whipper snappers out there. Stay out of you dads stash. LOL

I'm in the middle with my age but I love smoking with the younger ones that think they can handle it. Pack the vape up with some good nugs and watch them get stuck for a while.

Im 19 and i live in a big city in the midwest... Ive been smoking since i was about 14. I remember the days getting jipped on a mid sack or my buddies trying to tell me my older brother ripped us off because he only gave us an eigth for 60$ (it was dank chronic) . I really dont even enjoy assosciating or chilling with any of the kids my age or younger ... they're mostly all ego-tistic think they know-it-all types when it comes to weed... but really they smoke whack ass beasters and dont really know the difference in between making yourself gag off a hit from some weed or actually coughing off some real funk... Most of the older people i chill with are real chill and laid back ... always got the good weed too .

I'm only 47 years of age . Am I still a young smoker ??

im young and constantly smoke with people older than me (like 30+) and find it AWESOME from my point of view. theyre more chill and treat MJ as a regular thing thab say some of my younger friends who are scared to smoke at some places that are pretty damn secure (like a college campus; i usually smoke a spliff walking around the grounds if im there past a certain point in the day but noooOoO friends are too scared to go on one of my nature walks haha)
