DUDE! I have the exact same PH and PPM meters I got on ebay. They work fine. lol, but the first PH only lasted about a year. $10-12 who cares right?

Good luck man. Go easy on them beans for a sec. I usually drop them in water for 24 then drop em in a Pargro cube. Works every time. Remember to go easy on the nutes. I just plain water for 2 weeks then give maybe 1/4 what the recipe calls for. GL

Well Like the title says, its time I got this thing off the ground, My box is a Wardrobe from a hotel that was remodeling, I purchased the cabinet for $30 dollars. I read forum after forum just like many of you did ,,, or did you,, haha jokes on me. So I decided to go the LED route, I was going to start with house bulbs , those new CREE bulbs from home depot, I even purchased around 25 of them, but Wise man informed me I could get into a basic LED for less money, THank God for homedepot, I have returned so much crap, and they have not said a word to me other than thank you. I ordered a inline fan from them , it was too loud, returned it too, well I couldnt keep the 4" carbon filter I bought to home depot either then, so I returned that, UGH,, I slowed down, I read all of the grows you guys have been doing, and the right parts started to come together, some of you know a few of the things I am going to use if you have seen some of my comments on other thread perhaps,
I have 3 feminized Northern Lights Seeds, if I go with soil like some of you, I will sprout all 3 and do three plants in a scrog, If I do with my single hydro set up, I will just do one and scrog that, so I hope to post some pictures almost daily if i can of the build, and I hope to have the girls under the light within a week, ( how ever long popping and a that shit I get to experience still takes)
you will see the box get assembled, all the parts are here except a couple of YO YO's that I am going to use to hang the filter in the top. and hopefully a sweet plant grow and a nice harvest, stay with me, its going to be bumpy I bet and I could use everyones help , I am sure of it, thanks in advance too.
So here goes, wish me luck and here are some pictures for you
the wardrobe is 38" wide and 24" deep, and 6 feet tall,
6" can fan
variac speed controller
14" long 6" wide carbon filter purchased from hyrdo store
300 watt mars led 1st gen light
flood and drain in 3.5 gallon buckets, going old skool siphon and GRAVEL for medium,
500 watt cadet heater , 7 day digital programable thermostate ( cold here )View attachment 3331042View attachment 3331043 View attachment 3331044 View attachment 3331045 View attachment 3331042 View attachment 3331043 View attachment 3331044 View attachment 3331045

The wife got sick right as I was about to geminate, so I put the seeds in the cooler, not sure what she has, illness for 2 weeks and she goes to a specialist Tuesday, while I waited for things to improve I decided to add some side lighting,, if the bulbs arrive today I will photo them these will push the actual draw watt to 390 actual and increase lumens to around 20,000 all this monkey around, but I am glad I didn't start until I know what is up with the little wifey,if she needs some long term treatment, I will have to decide if I can do the grow and care for her at the same time

the bulbs arrived today and the bozo seller on ebay sent me 6500K bulbs when I ordered 2700k bulbs, so I am going to send them back for a refund, but at least I have time to kill right now, after the refund, I will probably wire up a couple of cree cobs for a boost in light power , at the very least I will order a second 300 watt mars and run the 2 side by side for 380 watts of actual draw power

I actually spent a little time tracking down where my old 180 watt UFO LED came from and realised it is from the same guy "Mars" who sells those. Mine is really old like 2012, has 9 spectrums and works good. So that seller seems legit.

If you are having trouble with time, Hydro may not be the best way to go. You have to check and stabilize PH in my experience. Check out the hempy bucket method and the Lucas formula. It's crazy simple and no hassles. Often peeps tend to love their plants to death.

Best of luck bro.

Prayers for the wife!
Thanks Fish, I didnt want to be one of those guys who had to chop down his grow because things got to a breaking point, its not how I wanted my return to growing to work out, I always am heart broke when I see it happen to others on here, I have a very good supply of legal weed in washington state that is keeping me in smoke, so there was no pressure in waiting to see how things play out with my wifes health, I will know more on Tuesday I hope

so while I wait for the return of the 60 watt cfls to go thru, I have decided to go big or go home with the led lighting, most people in the led forums seems to gravitate towards the new Cree cxa 3070 cobs, so I am going to order at least 2 of them and wire them around the outside of my 300 watt mars, I have watched complete grows under just one of these pull down close to 3 ounces, and there is a huge light build here in the led forums using 8 of these cobs in a very big tent with great results as well,
by doing this I have control over the light set up and it something goes wrong i can replace a part instead of the whole light, and when the mars kicks the bucket or if I am unhappy with the mars after one crop, I can just ad more cobs as needed, attached is a photo of one way to wire these together, or you can view the thread where I got the part numbers and see his grows, here is the link

very cool cab ya got there, i see lots of similar hardware here too, lol (been working on my new cab. the last month). I think im going to have to switch over to that MARS led light set, with my hydro setup i have less head space, but about the same dimensions otherwise. Should i expect less heat out of that light?? or would it actually compare to a low watt HPS bulb? I guess the light spectrum is the biggest reason for going LED vs staying with a MH/HPS bulb? Anyway, i can relate with your light proofing woes, i went with a single door this time around hoping it would be easier to seal... Anyway, just wanted to stop in, ill be watching this for sure...

The led Ru ns much cooler than Hps you can touch it even when it's running , the led is really suited well for small cabs, if you can do a little assembly with PC fans and 12 volt PC type power supplies you would be miles ahead to go with a Cree cxa3070 I can link you to a couple of threads on rolitup where they make it look easy , 2 of these would put out 2 times the lumen with less heat than the mars . if it seems to tricky for u ,the mars won't let you down

i think i browsed through a couple of the links you posted on that light, im definitely not afraid to try to put something together like that... just when i saw the mars light for just over 100 bucks, thought thatld be the way to go... ill put so more effort to researching it, im not in an immediate hurry to make the change, its currently 28* outside lol.

Update time, well my wife is still sick, but that doesnt mean I cant work on this light upgrade I have been pondering, SOOOO today I just ordered my 2 CREE CXA3070 3000k cobs from Mouser electronics, and I ordered 2 power supplies from Jameco electronics, and 2 artic heat sinks from amazon and 2 cob solderless mounts from newark.com, i am going to set these 2 cobs up and hang them right along side of my mars 300 led array, and the 3 together should have me around 300 watts could be a little less maybe 275, Ill get a watt meter later when its running and get a real world actual number then. but that should be Ripping the watt/lumens/par shit for my size box, I have been following a couple of guys around here who are Led wizards ( well you are in my opinion) . so in a few days when the parts arrive I will post pictures , and build photos,
