One of the best Bug controls i know of!!!!!!!!

Hi Folks

I thought i would create this thread as i hear so often that people have bugs or caterpillars etc and they want to know of a good way to get rid of them.

The best thing i can tell anyone to do is get something with an active ingredient of SPINOSAD. There are a few products that have this ingredient. Alot of ANT insecticides carry this ingredient.

So here is what i personally use.
I live in the UK and here it is very difficult to get an insecticide with the ingredient SPINOSAD as not many people use it in things. Again here you can get ant powders that contain some spinosad but nothing i would consider using as the amounts of spinosad in a lot of the UK products is not really enough, plus there are lots of chemicals along with it.

So i choose to order the below from the USA. In total it costs me £35 for a pint of this insecticide which also includes around £22 of air fair to get it to me.

For those of you in the USA it is $19.99 for a pint of this.

I ordered my latest bottle on Tuesday of last week and it got to me today Tuesday this week. A total of 5 working days.

This perticular insecticide will work on THRIPS, CATERPILLARS, LEAFMINERS, SPIDER MITES and alot of other nasties.
IF you are using predators to help with pests then this will also not harm them too much however it may/will still harm some of them.

I believe in this product as it managed to eradicate a bout of thrips i had on my last grow.

The mix that i generally use is just a single teaspoon into 500ml of water and spray my plants. Anything that is left in the sprayer i use over the top of my medium.

This is an organic way to eradicate most of the problem pests i hear about.

Here is a link about SPINOSAD.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Any questions or comments about this product are welcomed.

There is Garlic and chilli spray
There is Tobacco spray.

These 2 are pretty good. Garlic is a good all purpose pest control BUt be aware it also has effects on predator bugs.

Do you want home remedies because you want to stay organic? Because spinosad is organic

Good advice.

The good thing about spinosad is that it doesnt have too much of a detrimental effect on predator bugs. Im not saying it cant effect them but it doesnt wipe them out. Its mainly used to stop foliage and root feeding pests.

It may well be a good product. BUT can you tell me what is in it? I bet even the manufacturer cant tell you whats in it. There is some sort of chemical beginning with A (avermectin) As far as i am aware this product is sold as organic yet if you google the active ingredient you will see that it is not.

I personally would not want to cover my girls in something that is not organic. Mainly due to whatever you put on them will come off into your lungs. EVen the manufacturer of plant vitality do not want to tell you what is in their product. Which makes me think Just what the hell is in it.

Dont get me wrong i use the occasional chemical in my grow (mainly Hot Shots no Pest Strip) But i only bring this out for a couple of days at a time. Just incase there is anything that i have missed.

your plants will not absorb a pyrethin...most pyrethins are micro encapsulated so if it rains, it would be carried into the soil. that would take care of the grubs and other root eating pests. animals will avoid pesticide also.

you may consider rinsing plants before harvest.

most pyrethins will last for the whole grow with one time application.
