Thanks for the show and test run captain. Surprised at such a wide margin, not surprised that the RW won, but wow, that's a significant gap, specially considering the draw. imo the spectrum likely has the biggest impact. Those onyx panels use quality components but I'm not sold on 2700k when it's the only spectrum nor single-spectrum light sources in general. I think the only lights than can get away with that right now are the Cree COB's as they're so efficient/intense.

If money were no object I would replace everything with top bin CXA3070's.

Accept no substitute! j/k, but they are awesome. :bigjoint:

You could sell off the lights and do it. I sold off commercial panels to get most of the money for my 3070s and @mc130p sold off his newly rebuilt blackdog after getting some CXA's.

What about CXA3590s top bin 90 CRI?
I think the 80CRI 3070 3000k is more efficient from what I have read.

I did, and I kept the money so that I can add another 3590:) Gotta wait till the comp finishes though....

From what I've seen the high bin CXA 3070's are king. I'don't believe the higher CRI is better for canna growth and not worth the money. What I really want to know is if it's the spectrum or just the raw power from the high efficency. I've never seen plants react to a light source like the CXA's

nice haul on the test captain. now lets see you put your magic touch to them. i don't think they will hold up to the cree setup. peace

Onyx with it's cover and lenses removed. I have to get some small bolts to replace the screws that held the cover on to keep the board tight to the heatsink. If it's going to run with no lenses the cover needs to be off also because it traps a lot of light inside of it. I'll be taking some readings with my quantum meter to compare to the lenses on readings.

Wow...you could easily silicone some reflectors on that if you wanted to cap...if you have the headroom. Looking again..it may be a little tight with some of those things on the board

Could have been some other factor, the weights are fairly close. Mike at rapid seems to think the light is spread more even with the diffused lenses .
I look forward to your results and good luck.

Would those different reflectors sans lense really help the spread that much? @Positivity
I look forward to @captainmorgan 's par test results and comparing before and after lens and casing removal. I would like to vokunteer for him to go ahead and buy those reflectors @Positivity linked to to test as well
:wink::grin::rolleyes:

I just suggested those in the case captain doesn't like the light without the optics. I'd try those before putting the frosted ones back on. Too bad the price went up...when I bought mine they were about $.60 each. I've got a bunch extra if cap wants them. I switched to the ledil version since they have a smaller base that fit stars easier..but I prefer the carclos reflective interior

These are the ones I'm using now. Ledil Tina 2...there's a clip on the bottom that needs to be snipped off and sanded flat. Little more work and little more expensive..

Little cheaper at newark...

All constructive input is welcome in my threads. I think that if I were to add reflectors it would be a bigger spread, like 90 to 100.
