Opinions on my first grow please!

I grew 7 plants and ended up with 5 females. Im only 3 weeks into flowering and there are some nice little buds forming.

I used some random bagseed. I'm using a 250W HPS and 4 30W CFL daylights, 8,000 lumens. thats a total of 38,500 lumes. I'm using coast of maine potting soil, the shits awesome, I chose it over Fox Farm actually.

I am also using fox farm trio big bloom tiger bloom and grow big. I have it in an enclosed cabinet that 5 feet tall, active intake on the side and out the top with temps around 83-84 and mylar over everything.

I PH the water and nutrients mix to about 6.7.

I'm hoping to get 4 ounces but I have no idea because I've never grown before.

What does everyone think>??? 4 ounces doable?

Looking good and healthy. Not knowing what strain they are your gonna have about 4-6 weeks left to go I would imagine and alot will happen in that time, fattening up, resin production, connection of the buds etc, I would say 4 oz dry is within your grasp, keep up the good work.

My friends guessing 6 ounces but that seems like a lot. Im hoping they will be done in 6 weeks. 6 ounces would be .67 grams per watt if it's just the HPS, if I include the CFLS in the calculation it would be 168 grams/370watts which would be .45 grams per watt. Should I include the CFLs in the calculation?

What do most people get usually? Ive heard 1 gram per watt is doable but everything has to be perfect. that would out me at 13 ounces which obviously isnt going to happen.

to many variables, plants genetics, food, temp, you get what you get, is it really all about weight?

I hear you on the pant genetics but you can see the buds already so it is easier to guess the weight isn't it?

As for food, they are getting all the food they need, hence the fox farm nutes. the temp is very steady.

In the end Im growing to smoke so the more it weighs the happier I am, so yeah it is mostly about the weight!!

nice grow, good thing you got that HPS, those CFL were really far away. I keep my HPS about 2" from the plant but I think most people need about 5-7 inches to stop the heat.


Any other guesses on how much these will yield?

i flushed my plants 2 days ago for the first time. i havent given them nutes in over a week and will be feeding them tomorrow. im hoping to get some good gowth soon. ill post pics tomorrow

These are 38 days into budding. They look good, its hard to believe they can get any bigger.

Is it true that they put on most of their size in the last 3 weeks?

They don't seem to have grown in height at all lately (which is good) do they stop growing in height at some point?

How do they look?

Man I'd be thrilled on this first grow, awesome job !!! Yeah they will fully form in the last weeks of flowering, have you check the trichs at all? You're after those amber/milky for a heavy highhh.

thanks man, i ordered a 60-100x adjustable magnifying glass with a light.

i should be able to see when they get cloudy, i hope i dont pull them too early

I'm guessing that I have about 4 ounces on there now. You can use the 2 liter coke bottle on the ground to put it in perspective on how big the colas are.

more pics they look like theyl be done before 8 weeks to me, theyre less than 6 weeks now and have lots of orange hairs

What they mean is they get dense and solid the last 3 weeks,almost all vertical growth stops where you are now.They look great!!Like the other guy sais you need to scope the trics,you cant go bye just the hairs if you want to get the couchlock effect.Be patient and wait it out,for sure 2 more weeks,watch the buds they should start swelling and get dense to the touch.

Seriously, your doing a excellent grow. I am working with a 250, and one shop light CFL's, I am not sure mine will be as big as yours in 3 weeks, I am at 2 weeks. I really don't have the correct setup, just got back into growing. But your doing great, I am thinking of picking up a few more CFL's to hold me off until I get a 600WHPS.

From what I see, I think your 4oz goal is reachable!

Hey, thanks everyone. I am done drying and they are all in jars. I weighed it at 180 grams. Plus I smoked a few grams so I got a solid 6.5 ounces.

I love that soil, and the fox farm nutrients are awesome too.
