Transplanting as your plant grows you pack the roots in..... Starting in a big pot your roots grow straight to the bottom.... Roots prefer to grow down

It leads to over watering also because you can't soak down the pot without roots in it.... If ya do the bottom of the pot turns into mud roots can't breath in.....

So you're left trying to tease the roots in w small amounts of water and end up w dry spots or you soak it and wait a month while the plant just sits there

Very basic gardening
Makes sense. Then i will simply use the same method but transplant a week earlier than this time. Simple fix. Ill be popping more Bodhi seeds in another week or 2. (Blueberry hashplant and more cowbells(gsc x 1988g13hashplant)

Basic stuff... it should make sense to a guy who's an experienced hydro grower

Might go so far as to start in seed starting cells or the double shot size solos

Looks great now. I don't know anything about roots organics 707 soil, but I'll tell you this: many people get over eager and seem to feel that if they just add a little more fert, that the grow will be the best thing they've ever seen. People do this because they can and the grow shops are all to willing to take your hard earned cash for ferts. I say this, give the soil a chance. Let the plants grow, give nothing but water when the soil dries out, and see how things go. Today's soils are being developed to sustain plant life for several weeks, maybe even the entire grow. It's easy to add more soil later, as you've discovered, or add more fert later if necessary, so let the soil expend itself and see how long it will last. When the leaves go pale green the yellow, chances are they could use a little more fert. but if you add fert to the plant, it will be seem to be impossible to know what to do to fix it. Once the fert goes into the soil when it's not needed, the damage is already done. So give the soil a chance to grow the plants and see how long it will last. When the plants are taller, go ahead with a 1 or 2 gallon buckets, then later move them to 5 gallons. That might be enough soil added over time to keep them growing without adding any more. If you've added ferts already, don't sweat it, just sit back and wait.

Yes i have noticed the roots organics soil is very hot! Its just the original potting soil not the 707 (idk why i thought it was 707, my bad). When i checked the initial runoff on my bluelab, ppm was over 2000 because my meter wouldnt even register it. And ph was low 5.3. Which is what i believe caused the initial slight burn when seedlings were abt a week old. I will never again germ seeds in hot soil. Plain coco and perlite from now on. I have not added any ferts just fed dilute 200ppm aact to a few bigger/yellowish plants And they look better now. I plan to keep these in 1 gal til they sex, then transplant to final 7gal smart pots and flip the lights for flower. Ive gone away from the roots organics soil. Some are in it and doing fine but the majority i put in sunshine advanced mix#4, which is not as hot and the plants seem to love it. So its 7gal pots and flower in about 2 more weeks. Should i top dress in the first few weeks of flower and if so what should i use to topdress?

You don't really need to top dress, chances are. also, I'd probably consider using FF light warrior to germ seeds and see how that works. that's what that soil was designed for according to FF. remember that you have to 12/12 the lighting to flower. you control it. never heard of sunshine 4. I know sunshine but not that one. ok then.

I really only bought the sunshine mix4 based on price and its medium conc. organic fert content. Im on a guerilla budget so money is low. Anyone know any good soil for flower that i could transplant into and flower a few days later after they fully recover from transplant? Bulk soil perhaps anyone?
