Overwhelmed with info. Need mentor. Help!!!

So where I live the supply and quality have been awful lately, so I have decided to try and grow my own. I have grown before, but it was a disaster. This was late 90's and all I had was shitty advice from friends to go on. Crammed 4 plants into the crawl space above a closet.

Now I'm dealing with too much info and sorting thru all of it has me going crazy.

So I'm thinking I need a mentor. I need an Obi-Wan of buds, but I'm willing to settle for a Han Solo. I just want someone I can email or message here (email is easier) when I need help. I promise I will be an awesome student and make you proud.

Im doing this for the medicine. 2yrs ago I was killed in a motorcycle accident and according to the doctors the aches and pains I have will never go away. The laundry list of my injuries would crash this site, so I will spare you the details for now.

I have probably already made my first mistake (ordered seeds already) and I'm going to be setting up my grow room soon and want to do this right.

Anyone wanna help? Promise I'm not a zombie.

B...

I would say buy a good pot book ( Cervantes " Medical Marijuna/Horticulture"), read it and ask questions here. about things you don't understand. You have a lot of Hans Solos here, and a few Obi Wans to take advantage of. Just hang out and read, ask questions and have fun.

Vision NL auto fem seeds from Herbies. I went with NL bc of the supposed low odor.

And I've been watching videos non stop. Lol.

Should I be concerned with height? I'm only working with 7.5' ceilings.

And thanks @Alienwidow ..... You will be hearing from me!

Nah, you should be able to put your lights right at the roof and maybe get five feet out of the auto if its i big girl. So far so good. If it becomes a problem just LST it.

Sweet! I'm totally paranoid of not having enough space bc that is what killed my first grow. Good news is this time I have a 70'L x 4'W x 8'H space to work with. Current plan is to build a 6x4x7.5 closet and do 4 plants. Goal is to only do 1 four plant grow every year. I figure that will equal enough meds to get me thru the year.

Goal was 4 plants. I currently go thru about an oz/6weeks. Currently use a grenco Gpen, but will be turning 3/4 of what I produce into edibles.

Am I wrong to think 4 plants will produce 12oz+?

Here are some other things I'm probably wrong about too:

1. No smell (or minimal) until flowering?

2. 600w light can support 4 plants?

3. The room I'm growing in will be 50 degrees for the next 4 months. The lights will produce enough heat to keep the room 77? Walls will be the housing insulation foam boards coated in question #4

4. Mylar or the white/black poly???

5. I'm growing in soil bc everything I read says way to go for beginners. Can I manually water as needed or is it worth it to set up a gravity drip system?

6. Where the clitoris is.

7. If I start the whole process dec 1st I will be done by April?

8. CO2? Looks like this will add $200 to my build. Worth it?

9. If I cut clones I can grow them in the same space since every plant will be a lady and they all need 18/6?

Again, thanks for the help everyone. You dudes are the best....

In soil w a six hundred on your first grow twelve isn't gonna happen ......

Fifty degrees you're gonna need a heater during the dark period in flower ..... It's a little too cold.... Not that they wouldn't grow but I believe that's gonna slow em up

Should prolly forget about co2 for now

Gonna wanna get the pots off the floor too w it being so cold

Step one is ventilation tho.....cart/horse

I actually have an awesome heater set aside to keep it warm during dark.

I think you are correct that I need to figure out the ventilation. I was hoping to set everything up before planting to get an idea how much the lights will heat the space.

The only thing that I'm not worried about is the elictrical. Wife is an E.E.

i run my light at night 6 pm to 6 am and 6 pm to 12 pm colder at night and the cost for power is cheaper at night then during the daylight per kilowatt

Gotta vent it regardless of temp... Humidity will get too high

No reason to worry Alienwidow is gonna take care of ya

Better get busy

Welcome aboard. Glad to see everyone pitching in.

The clit is just below the opening to the vagina. Feel around in the dark with your tongue until you find it :)

  • Soil is best for starting out
  • 7.5 feet is plenty of height.
  • Since you are making edibles your yields will be better than people who just harvest the best nugs.
  • Clones will require a separate grow space since during flower you will have lights on 12/12. Unless we're talking autos, but you can't clone an auto. (You can but it serves no purpose)
  • All pot stinks. Even vegging plants can reek. A good filter takes care of that. Don't skimp on the fan and filter. 6 inch or 8 inch Vortex fan and Phresh filter.
  • Think about where you will vent to. Attics are great for this if you have one.
  • DEC-JAN for veg FEB MAR APR for flower. They'll probably take 70 days or so for flower.
  • 350 grams is approximately 12 ounces. That's achievable with a 600w if all goes well.
Also, think about your water source ahead of time. A decent RO system is great to have. Costco has undersink units right now for $120. May not be enough water though if you grow trees.

Questions

One important thing.. Do you rent or own? House or apartment?
How many seeds did you buy?
How many sqft do you plan to make the space?
Will it be wood frame? (think about how you will hang lights and filter etc..)
