I’ve popped around 100 various seeds from Humboldt SC with mixed results. I’m a small commercial grower in OK and do all my own “hunting” (has to be a better term for this..) and out of those 100, I had about 85% herm to varying degrees (I’m not blaming them at all, it could very well be me, but I also have a few strains that seem very stable while many others herm). So far out of those 100, I had 7 or so phenos that really caught my attention: 2 OG Kushes, 1 Headband, 2 blueberry Muffin, 1 lemongrass, and the collie man Kush is loud AF and a beautiful plant, but hermed bad enough that I couldn’t justify keeping them in a commercial setting.
Out of 4 OGs Fem, had like 3 herm, but all were pretty consistent growth. Still have #1 and it is a really nice smoke, all pine and gas, no fruitiness to it. Tested at 22.7%THC, 1.25% terps, and it’s probably my overall favorite after plenty of R&D. Really solid OG. BUT she can be finicky, so it’s a love/hate thing.. the other one tho.. The #3 was definitely a keeper that I didn’t keep... prob would’ve tested at about 25% and 1.8+ terps, with just the right amount of fruit, like fruity pebbles with loooots of piney gas. Kicking myself for not keeping that one..
The Blueberry Muffin seems very stable and homogeneous; though I did get a beautiful dark purple pheno that has the fitting great smell, and a green pheno that can purple if taken longer/colder with a bit louder smell, all pretty low yielders and tested at 14%THC, 1.45% terps. Pretty good smoke, but I’m not much for the fruits. Not good commercially unless your going for extracts.
The headband hermed bad enough that I ditched it after round 2. It had a peppery funk that was sure loud and the smoke was super smooth and delicious, and real mellow effects, great yielder. Tested at 17%THC, 1% terps (not sure I believe this one).
The lemongrass I kept is right up there with the most densely coated trichome covered buds I’ve ever seen, but it’s very leafy. Quite a bit of variety in the 8 or so I popped as far as height; all needed support, all sweet lemony flavor. The #6 I still have is so sticky and smells pretty damn loud and great. Just not good bud structure. It’s just small balls of sticky frosty leafy dense buds, but grinds fine, rolls nice, smokes really nice, and hits really hard and fast. I have a tolerance right up there, and this one usually catches me mid joint where I’m just like ‘F I’m stoned’. Wears right off after about 30-45 min. Tested at 22.3% THC, 1.32% terps. Really don’t like how it grows, but it’s worth hanging on to I think.
The 4 collie man Kush were very similar in growth, 2 green and 2 almost black purple, all smelled loud AF gas, burnt pine, sour flowers. All hermed pretty bad, but really wish they wouldn’t have. Not a very strong high, but super mellow body, plenty functional.
So far, my 3 female White Russians from serious seeds were very homogenous and stable, and might be one of the better commercial strains I’ve grown yet. And White Russian is kick-your-ass strong! I’ve had multiple occasions of smoking it and after about 20 minutes I feel like every limb is 1000 pounds.
Hope this is of some assistance.
