PC Planter

Hello,

I came across something called the PC Planter and I'm very intrigued because stealth is very important.

I'm tired of dealing with a really flakey middle-man and right now that's my only option, so I'm looking to do my own growing. I'm not a heavy smoker and I only want to grow for personal use. I don't mind paying the $600 as long as this thing works and I can count on it regularly. I know it can be built for cheaper, but I'm very busy and just want something fool-proof. Has anyone had success with the PC Planter?

Any feedback and advice is welcomed and very much appreciated.
Thanks!

looks fun.... but risky....

do you need the stealth?

there are really easy ways to grow 1/2 lb of chronic that will cost you a lot less.. and be very very little work...

although that contraption looks fun

cheers

I have one! In over a year I haven't been able to get a successful harvest - though a lot of healthy looking males have died in the process! Don't want to jinx myself but the latest batch looks to have at least one female so maybe my luck is changing.

My advice is to not follow their instructions or wait - i take that back. If you buy one - follow their instructions to the letter and after that doesn't pan out (though i wish you luck) then come back and read this.

I'd germinate your seeds using the paper towel (or your preferred method). I'd get the cracked seed into one of those organic plugs and get them in a humidity dome of some sort (you'll have to custom build something if you want to put it in the planter) or put something in the planter to raise the system up closer to the lights (be careful not to block the fans). After you get some growth established put them in the bubbleponic system and follow the nute advice given here or in your favorite source. Wait until the plants establish themselves before switching to 12/12. And well - that's about it - i see a lot of stem elongation and the grow rate is very slow.

To be honest, I was too impatient and invested in some much nicer equipment which I'm working on currently. And my honest advice is to look at custom building something with decent lights and more plant capacity cause unless you're using female clones - expect to have to kill most of your crop. Unless you have better luck than I did in the male/female ratio so far.

sorry to be so long winded but i figured since i do have one i'd share what i know. feel free to ask specifics if you want.

i regret the purchase. at least i learned what i don't want! And I'll repeat my original advice: "my honest advice is to look at custom building something with decent lights and more plant capacity... "

Yeah im sure they can seem like the perfect hideaway to a new grower but to my mind they are just to small to get anything worthwhile of when you consider the amount of cash they cost your much better off buying an old chest of drawers and using that and adding some hinges and just glueing all the doors together so they open as one:blsmoke:

OK. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I have an old dresser that might work. It's about 3 ft tall and 2 ft in width. Much bigger than the PC planter. Would a 4 plant hydroponics system, fan, lighting, etc. be sufficient?

Right now I'm a clueless novice just trying to learn.

Thanks again!

Well, I followed your first link. It doesn't come with the height reducer (all natural), the soil, and also the spray n grow. http://www.sunlightsheds.com/SLS-PC-Planter-Plug-N-Play.html this place does. I ordered mine for the first time yesterday. Like you, im using it for personal use and need it to be discreet. Hope this helps!
