Perpetual grow with 2 tents veg time too long

Question. If you run a perpetual grow using 2 tents (2x3 veg) and (5x5 flower). Take cuttings for the next grow just at the flip. The flower period is 8-10 weeks plus up to 2 weeks drying time using the flower tent (the 3x4 is too small). How can you veg for less than 10-12 weeks? They are rooted within one week. This is my issue. I would love to flip earlier.
I have started taking cuttings up to 7 - 8 days after the flip, to slow down the growth. It’s just enough to slow them for about 2 weeks after rooting, but then they take off. That still leaves veg at about 8 weeks. The GG#4 I’m running now would be perfect to flip at 5 weeks.
I have searched but couldn’t find this specific question
Thanks

Re clone ur clones at a certain point which will result in the nee clone being the right size for flip, get a tent specifically for drying, or just keep a mother alive indefinitely and take clones as and when needed

Well you could fill half the 5x5 and then 5 weeks later fill the other half .
Harvest every 5 week.

But you'd need a separate drying tent.

Or you could take your cuttings and pop them in the fridge and root them later.

Or look into bonsai mothers and take your cuttings from that

Thanks all. Can't fit another tent as I'm using all the space I have. Some interesting ideas though. Cloning the clones hmm never thought of that. Also keeping a mother might work, just need to learn how to stop it outgrowing the 3x4. They're good starting points. Thanks again

How is your veg tent not big enough to dry in? You should be able to fit at least 2.5 pound on one of those multi layered dying rack net things.

I used to run a similar setup to yours. If you dry in the veg tent you grab one of those small clone tents that's and set it up on the top of the veg tent. Just cut a thick piece of ply to sit on top to give you a solid base. If you have a separate tent for the clones and dry in the veg tent you can veg for less time and you'll have less time between harvests.

Another good idea would be to mainline your plants. This is a great training technique which can be highly productive, if you check out a few mainline grows that are done right you'll see what I mean. Plus It's high stress training so it takes extra veg time for them to recover.

I like to hang the branches whole. I have never used drying racks. I think they dry much better. 2.5lbs is about what I'm getting. Space wise it's like turning the grow upside down.

Take the clones in flower, by the time they re veg you'll be nearly done.

With a bit experience you can time it to perfection.

Refrigerate the cuttings until you are ready to root them. Take more than you need just in case. Plenty of resources here on RIU for how to do it right, just use the search bar.
