PH strips vs pool water tester with drops

I have those exact brands of those, just wondering which is more accurate in testing PH as they both give somewhat static results however they are around 2 points off from each other when testing the same liquid.

If possible I would appreciate an educated answer on this rather than opinion based but I'll take what I can get, thank you.

I like the liquid drop test vs the strips. I find it more accurate and easier to read

I use bluelab guardians in all my reservoirs, love em. Easy to use, accurate, and last.

I use strips once your used to them there fine and a perfect cheap alternative

Umm, I just looked up ph pens and it seems that they're for testing the ph value of paper.

I don't know what ph pens you were looking at but they make about 20 different kinds for testing water. Blue lab is a good reputable company in that area

Eh... ya for 300 bux that thing better work. I'm currently using 10$ drops/strips, accuracy probably isn't as high as that 300$ tester but they don't cost 300$

Ok, I just looked over a couple other forum posts I found on google and a lot of people's arguments against the strips is that they rely on "a colour chart that is subject to the colour perception of the user". The drops also rely on a colour chart so how is that any different?

What does it matter? use whatever you want as long as you ph it you're fine. You seriously are researching the dumbest shit.. so unimportant!

Well why bother ph testing at all if your test isn't accurate. The strips and drops are at least 2 points difference, you're supposed to keep it in the 6.3-6.5 range 2 points off puts it at 4.3-8.5 so of course I'm going to research otherwise as I said, why ph test at all.

Side note, I will likely favour the drops as more people vouch for them over the strips.

This is why I dont even bother checking my PH. Everything I test with gives me a different reading.

When I did my first grow ( dwc hydro) I used the bottle and drops. They were pretty accurate imo. But a headache and very time consuming when having to adjust pH. I went out and bought a relatively cheap pH pen and saved me a big headache. It only lasted for about 7 months but well worth the $50. Good luck.
