Photo/Auto cross

Last year my photo Diet Durban got pollinated and produced a bunch of seeds. I was spraying autos that produced pollen and seeds. This year I germinated and grew this plant, Diet Durban. Seed date is 2/6/22. It appears to be in flower at 2 months?? Is it possible for a photo to produce auto seeds if pollinated by an auto?

That sounds fair. I bought the photo seed from Pacific seeds and they told me that those these were unstable. I only got this one to grow and it was a photo last year. I appreciate it

I used to have a photo chart explaing auto x auto and auto x photo gens, but not sure if i still have it. Made it easy to see how it worked.

I just started growing last year. Love it. But as I understand so far, there's no guarantee as to what the other seeds from this mother plant will be, right, as each flower can produce different strains? I mean the mother plant was heavily seeded. I had other plants that got seeded in the same tent but not like the Diet Durban. I'm growing Blue Berry and Spumoni that seeded at the same time and they have not gone into flower, but just wondering about the other D.D. seeds that I have??

The f1 between photo and auto is a fast version like sweet seeds and other places sell its a photo with a lil shorter bloom time vs straight photos the f2 or worst case f3 is where you will find the auto trait and select for it if thats your wish

So why would this one flower? I don't get it
Check if its rootbound maybe cos even some straight photo strains still flower in 18 and 6 if rootbound or having major root problems etc sweet pink grapefruit is one example there are others that do it im sure too

I'm growing in fabric pots. Transplanted to 3 gallon pots last month. Don't think it could be root bound but thanks. I'm hoping they are all autos

While I haven't experienced it, it is possible to find a true autoflowering plant in seeds from an auto/photo cross in F1's. These are plants. They don't always follow our rules or charts.
Yeah its not impossible rare but it can happen im sure

i accidentally crossed an auto purple punch with a Durban poison last year. Purple punch threw herm beside it and the durban was full of seeds. Popped my first seed from the durban on march 18 this year and its already well into pre flowering at day 25. Got lucky for sure. Id love to wrap my head around breeding in the future, but i lucked out this time round and ended up with an auto purple punch/durban poison cross. Have about 150 seeds, will be interesting to see how many autoflower. You can get lucky with first gen or accidental crosses.

I have a cross between a mephisto auto & a mass medical strains photoperiod pack called 24 grapes. I will dig the pack out later & post the info it came with.

Not sure why, but Photo x auto 1st gen is Photo. 2nd gen is 25% auto genes, 3rd is 50% and 4th should be 99.9999 auto. Maybe it's possible the photo had the auto gene in very small % already therfore passing the small chance to the 1st offspring.
Smart guy you are
