Please Help. New to LEDs

Hello Fellow Growers! Help is greatly appreciated. +rep

I want to grow 4 to 6 plants at a time, Indica dominent so it stays short and some lowryders. The light source I'll be using is LED from start to finish. And I'm not sure but I think a 4'x2' grow tent should be a good size for this grow.

My questions are

-Is 4'x2' a good size for the amount of plants im about to grow?
-What LED wattage is best for the amount of plants im going to grow or the tent size that I will be using?

Thanks agian.

2x4 is a great setup....I have a HydroHut Silver Addition that is actually 2.5'x4.5'. I used to grow 5-6 plants in it until I got smart and now get the same yield with only 2 plants that fill it up very well. I use 2 - ProSource 180W jumbo LED's and they do very well in this tent.....I've run 400W HPS in it too but had more heat issues thus higher vent fan speeds. Either way you can yield at least 8oz in that space if not more using advanced SCROG methods. My zippers still work too.

That depends are you growing DWC with buckets? You can ony fit four 5 gallon buckets in a 4x2 tent if your growing with DWC buckets. For your LED lighting checkout HTGSupply's 120watt Tri-Band, lets out about equivelant to a 600w HPS. Just remember each plant deserves 100watts, so if youve got 4 plants you need minimum 400watts output in the tent.

Sounds good. I'll look into that tent and LEDs you have. Hope there all under my price range! :)

I'm goin to grow with soil. And start off with 3gal pots. And I will also look into those lights! So would it matter if I grow lowryders also?

when are people going to learn that LEDs are just not worth it? just get yourself a 400 or 600 watt HID and maybe a cooltube for the tent.

Can a 90wat LED grow at least 2 lowryders, or more? If so how many for this kind of wattage. Or maybe a break down of x amount of plants to x amount of LED wattage. That would better my understanding.

Hey bro.. I just got myself a 1000wtt LED system off Ebay cheap as hell 2, I might add!! A hell of a lot cheaper then my 1000 wtt MH & balist set-up! And with the LED'S I can "already" tell a HUGE change in the over all way the girls are responding to it, verses the MH.. idk maybe its just me, & the 1,000 + other growers that notice a diference.. just my opinon.

ROFL, Kindly leave my thread. You dnt need to bang on HIDs here. Thanks

Alright. Lets stick to subject...

I'm still wondering about my question earlier with the 90wat LED. One should be good enough for maybe 2 lowryders??

I wasn't banging on HIDS! I was merly speaking my mind. Yeah bro, it should do the job.. I personally would get a higher wattage. But hey, that's just me bro.. well later. Happy 420. Peace..

lol this one is cheaper and you'll grow ten times the amount of bud :bigjoint:

and to answer your question NO thats not enough to grow anything thats actually worth it, with that 90 watt LED and 2 lowryder plants you will probably yield like 10-30 grams but with the HID you'll get like 30-60+ grams, but its your money so just go and buy your pretty pink lights.

ROFL,
Have you seen the thread that I posted earlier. That was like 19 plants! under ONE 90watt LED from start to finish! Some didnt get enough light but still turned out sweet.
Thats all the PROOF i need to even try LEDs out. Even RIU OGs even said they'd try it. So YES, I think with an efficiant 90watt like that Spectra Unit (which btw if anyone can help me purchase, please feel free to help me out because its in Dutch) or the Illuminator I can get my moneys worth.

I myself started with 90w but eventually moved to the 2-180w Jumbo's. One time I was goofing around with an auto in a closet while I was doing some 400W HPS stuff in my flower area (believe me I have been on both sides of the fence and see Pro's & Cons to each). Here is an Easy-Ryder from the "Joint Doctor" breeder that saw 3 weeks of 90W LED and 5 weeks of 180W LED (ProSource Brand). Yes, she's a fattie for an auto but I think it is more of my growing method than the lights. Most of you will find the same thing eventually. Some people can't pull this of with a 250W HID over one plant. LED's are here and they are real..they don't have the intense penetration of HID but the difference seems to be more popcorn buds around the bottom of the plant with HID..something I don't really desire. Give me some cola's and I'm happy. Some people claim nugs are more "solid" but all my Indy's come out that way, now matter what type light. Anything with much Sativa seems "hairy" and "airy" no matter what.

actually they do have that penetration if they have a lens that focuses more light down rather than out, i will be getting one of the newest pieces of led tech soon... hopefully, and i will be showing it off

really nice plants though how much was the weigh in?
