Please help with hps setup!!

i have a 100w ballast and a 100w hps light. i did not know when i baught the ballast it was gonna be this confusing.
i was wondering if you could tell me what i need to hook this ballast up.??
or an easy way to set it up.

no, no kit. i think its an older ballast. i didnt kno anything on ballast when i baught it. but im just tryuin to get this one to work for the flowering period... then i plan on buying a newer ballast/something simple

If I were you I would go to there website should have instructions on putting it together.

i have been there, they do show diagrams and stuff, but that about it.

now what "things" do i need? a mogul socket, wire nuts, ?? what else?

NOt real sure on what all you have but I guess You would need something to mount it on or in and to look at the diagrams and see what else it says you do so you know what you need.

ok yes u need a mogul socket if the bulb has a mogul base which it appears it does
then is it a multi tap, check the wiring it is usually marked on wiring which wires r what get this info and i can tell u how to wire it up
i just wired a bunch of ballasts

ok after looking at your ballast it doesnt appear to be a multi tap looks like u only have 4 wires and it looks like i can see markings on them. 2 should say com and one cap and one should be marked with the voltage. U take one com wire and hook it to your socket then take cap wire and hook it to capacitor then take the other wire coming off capacitor and hook it to the other connection on socket. then u take the other com wire and the one marked with voltage and hook these to your power source. then fire it up

I wired my 150 with first diagram i believe second diagram is for 250 and up.i used a pc power supply case for housing ...good luck

but he doesnt have colored wiring so those wont help him. i have found that most ballast dont have colored wires they have labeling printed on wires
