Hi all,
Long story short, Police turned up at my house today. First time ever in twenty years. Turns out a car I bought was involved in a drive off from a scene last year (at a time when i did not own the vehicle). They knew where I lived as it was registered in my name. Panic mode off. I hand over the previous owner's details (she said she owned the car for ten years). Cops head off.

I notice a 2'' gap in my window's blinds (second floor bedroom) where I am growing my plant. To me, its abundantly clear I can see my strong LED grow light. I regard this as very distinctive and straight away I know it's a grow light, there's a half-chance the cop saw the light depending on the angle he could see from the car. I know its a newb mistake but I'm not set up for a grow room and I don't need a grow tent. I'm just wondering do you think I should be worried as there's a good chance they saw my light, i.e. would you get rid of the plant?

I would seriously hope that a cop seeing an odd coloured light through a crack in a window blind would never pass as the probable cause to get a search warrant.

If it does, you've got far deeper rooted authority issues than just growing plants.

I wouldn't worry about it in the slightest.

Are you in an illegal state?

Cheers man, I was just thinking as you can see the powerful light, plus the red LEDs it obviously wasn't a room light. Just my luck that that two inch gap basically revealed the whole grow light. I'm just paranoid atm. Put a lot of work into this and I'm still a bit nervous from their visit.

I think your correct, certainly wouldn't be enough to get a warrant.

Did the cop seem to be looking over in the direction? If not then he was probably more concerned about his original task. I wouldn't sweat it to much.
Unfortunately he was facing me, and behind me one story up was a grow light. Depending on the angle you could see the whole grow light, but pretty much all angles you could see the rays of light. Just very unlucky and newbish mistake.

I'm in Great Britain/ Ireland. It's illegal to grow. My house is in the middle of the countryside, so very much isolated.

owning and operating a grow light isnt illegal though lol.....You guys realize they were invented and are used for growing things other than weed, right? You could have a room full of vegetable seedlings you plan to transplant into a garden soon.....Unless you were asked about it and gave some incredibly dumb answers youre fine hahaha Ive had closer calls than this.

Not sure about Ireland but in England if cops suspect your growing weed then all they need to do is say the can smell it and they can enter your property without a warrant, as of the misuse of drugs act from late 90s. So if he saw a light and thought something of it he could walk into your house there and then. He didn't so I would say your safe and he either didn't see it, did and didn't put two and two together or just didn't care like most of them.

Lucky for you it's gardening season. Lots of people use grow lights to start plants indoors, then transplant into their gardens. In your area, it's probably a birth right. ;)

So a lot depends on you. Biker or granny. Or granny biker?
