veg about 2-4 weeks including rooting time, after a week or 2 in 4x4 pots i transfer into the 1gal bag pot then toss it into flower about a week later.

my elec bill? well it was about 130, probably went up to about 140 now with the addition of the 400w MH, but with all my household stuff i run around 160-180 in including about 250w on 12/12 for my turtle tank. im pretty efficient with my elec or at least i try to be.

thats White widow btw

moving on up :) flood and drain baby! bout to flood 9x a day fuck it!

but let me clue you in on my cheapness, flood and drain for 2x4 super cheap.

20' pvc pipe for frame, 1/2" thick walled (600psi, not the foam core bullshit) 5$
x4 side outlet elbows 4$
x4 couplers for the feet of frame 2$
tube cutter 8$
x2 cement mixing totes( i little bigger profile than 2x4 but they fit in the tents) for the tables 11$
12gal tote 12" high (frame legs will hold tables at about 17 inches and drop 4-5 because of the tray) 8$
400gph pump 20$

total of, 58$ thats the price of one 2x4 flood table :)

sweet man be sure to post pics...

what do you use as a medium for flood and drain? is it clay pellets? i have always kinda wondered more about flood and drain tables, i understand the basic concept just not all the lil details.

im using what i got:) i run a peatmoss, perlite mix, so compost, so a soiless medium in other words.(the exact mix is 5gal peat, 4 gal perlite, 2 cups sand 1cup dol lime 2 cups gypsum, and 2-4 cups vermiculite.)

i was running drip so its not a big jump, just more efficient for me and my plants. im actually building 2 setups one for each tent.

as for all the details :bigjoint:

well now that you mention it. i may switch mediums after this run, reason i want to keep it soil or coco or something is in case i have to move or hide them. a clay pellet pot would be hard to keep watered.

taking a smoke break about done, got a few design flaws nothing major, but the tote/res will support some of the weight cause 1/2" is not thick enough for the weight and bows, should have used something bigger/stronger, but oh well creates a very nice Colosseum effect. also use no bulk heads and the the only tubing that has water is from the pump. just drilled small holes( 1/8" x2) in the bottom of tray and a few small holes in the lid, tray drain onto lit which in turn drains into tote just make sure there are more hole in lid than tote.

there they are first pic is mock up, second show how bowed the veg one is, oh welll every thing got cramped quick in the HPS tent i got about 3"s to the ceiling with a few and some of the sat o got going are going to hit it, pretty basic drilled hole in bottom of trays and it drains onto lid into res.

also the HPS one is not a flood and drain its gonna be a NFT(old tired pump wasnt strong enough, needs to be retired) which in the end might be what i do to both, right now im gonna compare.

Nice job! how often are you flooding?

Are your plants in soil?

Just curious what your opinion is.. someone once told me that it is better to water from the bottom up rather than water the tops of pots..

Opinion?

my opinion on this is theres no dam difference as long as you dont let them continuously sit in a puddkle of stagnant water.

its depends on the growing style, but i agree for the most part it is better to water from the bottom up. yes im in a soiless mix (peat and perlite) i flood 4x a day and run the NFT 24/7
