Polygamy

Just watching the news about this shit, is it just me or are these people completely nuts? they set up walls around their community and in some cases forbid people to leave and tell lies about the outside world? i was just looking at some aerial photos of the compound in eldorado texas, these people are fucked!

wasn't that like the movie...umm shit I forgot! with the forest and the blind girl. Anyway yeah that's fucked imagine them being exposed to the real world after living like that.

The polygamy thing isn't what's fucked. What's fucked is how they indoctrinate their children -- the girls are groomed to be married off and impregnated as soon as they've hit puberty (which is why they've been raided, that and the claim of physical abuse). The boys are groomed to take very young brides all their lives.

I mean, honestly, if we're talking about consenting adults where everyone is in the know and all agree, then I really don't have a problem with polygamy. Doesn't exactly work in our culture or society, but they're still adults. But, when we're talking about kids who have no choice?

I hope Warren Jeffs has to toss salad in prison. He's a major prick.
