try it, you'll like it. 1/2 plants turn purple. Just sampled some quick dried purp star and its some very strong stuff. If you don't like being couch locked with serious munchies this strain isn't for you. Its supposed to be a very mold resistant strain, but ANY strain will mold if the conditions are bad enough. In my area it seemed like it rained almost everday for 3 weeks and it was very humid. Mine began to rot and i had to cut it yesterday. I was surprised that it took so long to start rotting though. It made it to maturity at least. You could grow some monsters in Cali. This strain hasn't caught on yet in the States, but its very popular in Europe.I'm in the exact same boat as you. Living on the coast of cali with lots of fog brings mold as a major factor. I have done a good amount of research on mold resistant strains where I've found: purple haze, purple power, and sweet purple are all mold resistant with decent to high yields. Also I found some non-purple to be mold resistant such as rox, swiss miss, and swiss cheese. Good luck.
GDP, Grape Ape, Erkle, all have super tight, dense buds and will mold in high humidity situations. Any real tight Indica will give you trouble most likely.
.This White Grape I got from Hodgegrown, is doing really well for me this year. If the buds taste 1/2 as good as she looks, she's a keeper!
