Im using alot of extension cords and power strips.

Im always wondering though, is there a danger to this? Is there a danger to running a 20 foot extension cord to my kitchen so I can hook in 1 more 1000w light?

Plz dont warn me of the hazards of tripping on cords or water spills, i am aware.

Thanks. I am suspecting this is not dangerous since I think everyone does it without issue...... but I wanna hear that 1 electrician and his warnings lol.

What about chaining? Im running 5 diff 25watt pumps, some of them have to extension cord to the power strip, then power strip to the wall.

Crossing? IDK shit about this, but is it unwise to let 1 ext cord lay over another? I thought I heard something about this, maybe it was unrelated....

the only thing i would worry about is tripping the breaker...
but if you know your place can handle it i would do it.
other than that you should just be careful of tripping over it or water spillage.

no if anything its just going to cause you to turn your breaker off then on again.

i'm using 1 socket, and running everything off that. on several power stips with timers.
hasnt been a problem.

you are NOT supposed to use a cheap extension cord with a 1000 w ballast. find a closer outlet for that and plug something small into the kitchen outlet. if you do have to make a long run for your light ballast you need to use a heavy duty cord. If you grab the cord and it is warm at all your over doing it.

thats a lot of electrical cords. Are ALL cords at least off the floor in case of an accidental water spill ? If water spills for ANY reason, are you comfortable that everything will be okay ? In my room, the only thing touching the floor is my res and my table holding growing tray. Everything else is off the floor and all cords tied into a wire harness.
