Price? how about hvac cost. Get a clue! Why don't you go change a bulb or something.
Led produce heat that needs to be dealt with also. No ir though.
Different strokes for different folks.
Alot of folks here run hid and led. Separately, same time, or seasonally.

The only reason the HID market still exists is because of the cheap start up cost to run an HID light, and old timer hold outs that refuse to see the writing on the wall.

I’ve been following this market for the last 10+ years. LED tech absolutely seems to be outperforming HID for anyone that bothers to try to run them how they need to be. The people still falling short with LED seem to be the ones that just try to swap a new light into an existing garden and expect instant magical performance without dialing in the variables.

are you refering to lightstrength being less strength with distance x sqr root? I think I can understand a part of it. Or maybe you could help explain...?
many years of spectrum compensation
why are you constantly harping around this subject, what's so important? what all different colors do you wanna hit, and @ what time each day @ what strength?
cmh was a wide full spectrum but still not much gains
CMH puts out more light than comparable HPS so at some wattage it makes economically sense to just use it. They also emit less heat... which could be either a positive or a negative factor depending on the circumstanmces.. so I'm not saying your totally right, just that most people at a certain point felt that this is a good solution, and it is! But most nowadays say LED is The KING, but here comes the price. And the most expensive is always the best... if you're dealing with a respectable saler, a professional. You get what you pay, if the industry spends money ont hings that are just poor, they business will not flower. You really think people spend about 5 times in cash to get something that isn't better? Or even worse? Like they don't have a brain. I did run both thi summer, and the instruments in these tents were significantly favourable towards LED.

and LED can emit alot of different colors of light, so I'm not seeign where the problem is.... you can just mix about many type on a board and manually or automatically toggle on/off. You can't have such a flexibility with HPS. It's always the same, you could buy different colors but then you've to run 4 times 150W instead 600W - but these lamps are not efficient.....
Everyone can say one is superior but in reality if anything was that superior we would all run it and the others would die overnight by logic
No why? In some situation HPS is clearly better. The price of HPS is much more cheaper, so if you grow just 1 time a year for yourself, as a homegrower, all you need is 300 bucks and 3 months time, and some electricity cost on top afterwards... or if you have a basegrow going where heat is needed...

So you now know what the best spectrum for mj is...

Why you bothering me then? ;-)

Why am i making adjustments for leds.... I dont seem to for cmh. What are you missing and then having to add back that a normal light dosent so that i need to change my indoor environment?

Im just following what growers done for a long time yet now everythinga different because of a light... lol dude just hear yourselves, its like that whole ked needs extra calmag troll bait that did the rounds

This site is still in the realms of reality right? :-)

So your saying cmh is the same as hps?

No but if it is that much better than hps we could plot one spectrum over the other and surmise some science behind it then go crazy on riu at new breakthroughs in plant biology - so far just a bunch of peeps making assumptions and no clear winner.

The hps spectrum is not shit by a long shot - many assume but in reality it works very well :-)
