There's 2 feet of snow on the ground here now and options are limited, in summer one can use leaves (not poison ivy), or one can go reto like folks used to do and as the survivalist types around here do and, "Scrape ye arse with a round rock", fortunately I live near the coast...

Ok, here is an interesting case. A tourist goes to CO on vacation and finds she has the virus when she returns to Toronto.

She was only in her 40's. She was only visiting.

TORONTO -- Ontario health officials have confirmed another positive case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in Ontario to 29.

In a news release issued on Sunday, health officials said that the patient is a woman in her 40s who returned from Colorado on March 2. She presented herself to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre’s emergency department in Toronto.

“The hospital took all necessary precautions and followed standard operating procedures, including testing and assessment,” health officials said. “The patient was discharged home the same day where she remains in self-isolation.”

But I have some decarbed flower and trim soaking in iso right now for a batch of hand sanitizer. I'm going to leave it green. Pretty color.

I next use a laboratory magnetic stirring hot plate that is thermally controlled to finish off the oil and remove the traces of iso, baking does the rest for edibles and wax removal is not an issue. I use cooking oil and butter too for edibles like cookies, extraction is simpler. Oil is useful for candies and confectioneries.

It looks like the average mortality rate (estimate) is around 1% according to the expert opinion, as more data comes in this number will change a bit. The hospitalisation rate is about 10% and that is a serious problem, the spread must be contained and slowed to keep the death rate down.

Death rates go up when local health care systems are overwhelmed and people get inadequate care or are told to go home and die. Slowing the spread of the pandemic is crucial to keeping death rates down and reducing public panic with overwhelmed hospitals. Public health, most people will get it, but hopefully not all at once, then you would see a disaster, with a very high mortality rate, look at Iran and even italy.

Unless adequate measures are taken, this epidemic could easily overwhelm the best healthcare system in the world, at least in some cities and regions.

Not guilty enough to not order it. Hell, at least I didn't get 12 bottles of 99%; it was about the same price. Go figure.

I buy iso 99% by the gallon at the farmers co-op, anywhere that sells stuff for horses or livestock has it by the gallon, at a fraction of the price you'd pay by the pint.

Weird ..
I am using my insecticidal mite spray .... water / iso / couple drops of dawn. Easy to make and carry travel size mist sprayer.

I'm more worried about the inevitable food riots that are soon to come. I can assure you that 50% of the population do not have the resources to hoard 2 weeks food. In reality there is very little food in the pipeline at any one time, only a few days worth. Once these supplies are gone it will take weeks/months to restock. Hungry people tend get violent in a hurry.....

Mortality rate globally is 6 %
Severe or critical cases are 14% of those infected.

I erred on the side of caution on the mortality rate zeddd, the best numbers are out of S korea, but they had an excellent response...
