Question about drying...why wait til stem snaps when bent.

I have dried out buds that long before and the whole thing was like a cracker and broke/fell apart real easy.

I thought the point was to leave some moisture in the bud and let it leach out slowly during the curing process?

Feedback please

yup do not let them get so dry that the stem snaps, should bend and the bud should be crispy on the outside it should look fairly dry but inside should be some moisture

they should be evenly dried.... you don't want it to be cripsy nor flakey...

...let them dry for a day, then bag it and wait for the bag to mist up, open to dry again... keep repeating until there is no moisture from bagging it...

BAD idea, do not put bud in baggies, you're compounding the moisture problem bigtime. Curing should be done in glass jars, not baggies. Baggies will retain moisture and to some degree even help to create more leaving you open to bud rot, mold, and a crappy taste overall. In dire situations, you could use tuuperware or something similar, but that is still not recommended, glass is the way to go, and the closer to 100% airtight, the better.

Yeah, I finally got some good jars to put em in. I had previously bought some jars but they turned out to be too big. Also, anything plastic will tend to have static electricity going on. Static electricity=Trichrome thief.

I'm still unsure as to what they should feel like when they go into the jars. I've been taking BK and BL out and letting them stay on a piece of paper for a few hours. They are dry when I put them in but within a day they are back to feeling moist again. I guess that's how i'm suppose to do it? I figure after another day or 2 of taking them out, they will have lost enough moisture for me to be able to leave them in the jars..
