question about regeneration

Hi fellow smokers
I have 4 nice girl plants planning to regenerate them after harvest.
heres my question If i cut off the top 1/2 of the plant when ripe, will the lower buds still ripen if i switch back to 16/8? Also will they bush out more after cutting top half.
Should i up root them and change soil?
Anybody try regeneration this way before? Let me know your advice. I am a 1st timer.:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:

Harvest all the buds except a few small ones on the bottom of the branches. The buds left after cutting and the light switch to 18/6 - 24/0 will not grow to maturity. They will slowly grow leaves out of the flowers and will eventually revert back to the vegetative stage. When in the vegetative stage you can take cuttings and start new plants or selectively prune for shape as the older plant re-vegetates. You only need 3 or four flowers to make this transition. Harvest everything else when ripe.

If you have been growing in the same pot all summer or through one life cycle, transplanting would be a good idea to keep the next grow from getting rootbound. Score the roots where they are net-veined on the outside and bottom of the root ball and use fresh well drained potting soil to refill the new pot. When the plants start to grow new leaves from the flower buds, start to fertilize using the veg formula of your choice of fertilizer.

How do i know if the buds are ripe? right now they are white hairs only can i pluck 1 bud and dry it just to get me by untill harvest or will it not get me high? I am Looking for red amber hairs correct? Also can i cut the top half off drop the lights stay on 12/12 to ripen lower buds then harvest all but a few on bottom then start regeneration? I have 1 runt only about 2 feet tall and she is not getting any light down there.
She is going to be gone after harvest and i want to regenerate the 4 big ones.

Don't look at the stigmas for the indicator for ripeness. Get a magnifier and look at the resin glands. Look for cloudy to 50/50 amber resin to determine ripeness. At this time the stigmas could be half brown and half white or they could all be turned red by harvest time, so the color of the resin is the only way to determine ripeness. The amber people are talking about is the color in the resin itself, sometimes looks like a blood spot in an egg.

You can cut a test bud now and dry it for a few days, but it will not be as good as properly harvested flowers. I usually harvest the colas on the ends of each branch that are one solid bud and sometimes the end cola and a nugget or two lower, then let the lower buds grow and fill out a little more, then finish harvest, then reveg.

Hello and thanks for all your help i really appreciate it. I am an idiot Stigmas are what exactly the hairs i was refering too.
The resin glands are all over the plant right. If i get a magnifier should i inspect the buds for what you described.
Sorry i am a big fat idiot can you tell me in laymans terms.

The stigmas are the "hairs" you are talking about, and yes look at the resin on the plant for the differences in color. The resin starts out clear and turns cloudy to amber as the flower ripens.

Thanks so much i will get a magnifier a look at leaves and stem for resin color. I will take some pics tomorrow when i water let me know what you guys think. untill tomorrow peace out guys.

Hi guys,
I tried to take some pics with my phone but they didn't come out good. anyways i got a cheapy $2 magnifier but i still can't tell
are the resin glands the crystaly looking things on the buds and upper leaves? i am worried the fan leaves are drooping down and apear to be dying, and the stems on the fan leaves are purplish. Could this be a sign its time to harvest?

Also the pistols are orangish, however the tallest plant with the biggest fattest cola doesn't seem to have orange hairs? But the smaller plants and the lower buds on the big one do. I know its hard to tell without pics but any other indications these ares ripe i can go by.
I can't afford a good magnifier or binocs. Ive tried borrowing but know one can help and i am dead broke. any sugestions?

I haven't been writing down dates but they are prob 5-6 weeks into flower. help if you can please.

Also i can't pick a bud and smoke it i am trying to stay clean i am looking for work. These baby's look great and smell even better i can't wait to have a smoke out its been about 2 mo's and i am jonesing hardcore. Peace out guys hope someone can help.

just a note, i re-gen'd a bubblicious feminized and it hermed to hell the second time round, i know it was a fem so it was kinda expected but its worth considering you may end up with pollen in your grow area.

Personally i wont be doing it again, for the time it takes to swich back to veg (mine took 2 weeks of 24/0 just to get some decent re-growth) then the hassle of training the new growth its just as easy to start again plus you have an excuse to try a new strain.

Hi guys,
These 4 plants started regeneration over 2 weeks ago. I left the 4 lowest branches with bud on all of them. I am noticing lots of new growth already they are one leafers. My next question is this. Will each spot of new growth turn into a main cola? because they are regenerating on almost every branch some in 2 spots. That would be awsome if each one would start a new main stem.
Thanks guys let me know.
