Random growth in 7th week of flowering

So i'm growing the blueberry strain from BCBD. The plants i'm growing are 2nd generation clones and are looking well, juicy and fat. I went to a music festy for 4 days and was unable to get anyone to watch over my females. So i just flooded them with water mainly cause i was going to harvest them soon anyway and we all know ya gotta flush out your nutes before harvest. When i am came from a heady festy, one of my ladies exploded with new growth on the top of part of the main cola, so much so that it's bending over at where i had it tied down before. The new growth has all white hairs compared to old growth where the hairs are amber and buds starting to swell. Anyone ever heard of this or know some kind of rationale for this? Hmm Sounds interesting. Are the buds below ripe looking?

that happend to some of my brothers plants 1 time never figured it out but it took another 3 weeks to finish up

Yeah, the bottom buds are finished! Do you think i should harvest the finished buds on the bottom half of the plant and just let the big cola continue?

That's what I do...when my colas get chunky like that..... I have to say that you will prob find the buds are a little woodier in texture than the buds that don't explode into new growth like that.....but still a great smoke
