water what the plant uses in a reasonable amount of time. if you use .5 l and it takes it all, add a little more till it starts to leave a little in the saucer, then back off just that much.
Okay thanks! I have one more question, it's kinda silly but anyway, does it make any difference if i pour in water directly so it makes a little puddle then dry out or if I dose it little by little untill the ground soakes it all in?

i grow in coco, which is easy to make craters in with water, so i've gotten in the habit of watering slow, which is probably better anyway, give the soil time to absorb some of the water instead of just rushing out of the bottom of the pot

depends on the plant, sometimes 3 or 4 days is enough, sometimes it takes a week or ten days, you just have to untie them and see if they stay where you want them, if they don't, re-tie them.
get a few feet of fishtank airline, cut it into 3 or 4 inch lengths, and put it on your string where it goes around the plant, won't cut into the bark.

ok, heres a lesson in reality.
buds aren't photosynthetic organs. leaves are. if light isn't shining on a bud...so what? buds are callyxes, which are designed by millions of years of evolution to reproduce the species, not to photosynthesize. leaves were designed to photosynthesize.
cutting off leaves that are shading buds is the same as starving those buds.
when the plant has pretty much quit stretching, i'll lollipop the bottom 6 or 8 inches, then if there are big masses of leaves blocking air flow in the middle of the plant i'll remove just enough of those to improve airflow.
thats it.
take the strings off and see what they do, if they pop up, tie them back down

I knew you will start explaining about photosynthesis and i will tell i know that ive nformed myself before removing any leaves but what I also read is that buds that receive direct light tend to be much denser later. you have a whole thread about it on grasscity forums
Anyway, thank you for that detailed description of the process but I have read about it in many post on numerous forums and what I concluded was that topping, cutting, lollipopping etc are bad on autos but if a plant is healthy I think it can bare small amount of stress caused by removing a few leaves. Also, when i removed those few leaves that were blocking new budsites I noticed a few more potential colas appeared on the main stem
