cute little guys have been feeding like crazy since we got them at around noon. normally newborn kittens take feedings every 2-3 hours, but they have been demanding feeding every half hour or hour. they're finally starting to take to the bottle and not fight it. much more active than 12 hours ago, too. poor things must not have eaten at all for their first day on this mortal coil.

i'm not a big fan of wiping their asses with a warm rag until they poop, but none of our cats will take the job, so we're stuck with that duty for now.

subbed. I want updates to see those kitties nice and healthy.
i have become uber attached to these poor things. too much for my own good. it is very possible that their mother abandoned them for a reason.

newborn kitties should be around 4 ounces, but our little babies weigh around 2 ounces each. 56, 61, and 64 grams respectively.

i am staying up until chanice wakes up to ensure their wellbeing. i just really hope they all make it. hopefully more updates as they pack on weight and grow.

off to feed them again.

I have a cat i feed named "ghetto kid" and this bitch is crazy I rescued my Patches and Lil Man from her. she killed the rest before i could save them. She had another litter this year. She did the same and I rescued 2...But to be quite honest these kitties are assholes. Laying on my seedlings and eating the leaves....fucking jerks. I still feed em but keep em out of my yard.

at this age they need feeding at least every 2/3 hours day and night....well done for taking them on..weve bottled many kits and am rearing a baby wild rabbit at the moment. best of luck to you...oh if its your first time rearing you will need to encourage them to toilet. we use an old tooth brush as the roughness mimics a mum cats tongue...lay kitten on its back facing you and gently stroke with the brush on the bladder, aiming down to kittens tail to encourage peeing etc. best of luck

I know and it seems like you have to do it forever before they are old enough to go by themselves, mine were just a little older than yours when I saved them, we tried getting rid of some of these feral cats living out here, I guess I'm not helping much. lol

I had four but lucky for me I was able to give one away before I got too attached, I'm stuck with the other 3 for life now. :wall: :-P

awww damn:sad: ... that made me said... I was all excited... I hope the best for the other 2... keep up the good work buck... stay high
i went through the five stages pretty quickly.

first i tried to resuscitate the guy with mouth to mouth (denial).

then i wanted to punch this "god" character in his cunt for letting a kitten die (anger).

then i went through a phase where i was just pleading to fate to let the other two live (bargaining) followed by a bunch of sulking around for hours (depression).

i think i'm getting close to the final step, acceptance. kind of fascinating looking back how i was unaware that i was passing those stages as they happened.
