Relative Bulb Spacing a 1K Mh and 1K Hps

How closely can they safely operate next to each other in a vert bare bulb setting? How close is too close? I was looking to set them about one foot apart, but just wanted to double check in here. I've tried looking around but it's always a flood of results dealing with bulb to plant proximity. Thanks in advance for solid advice.

I think you will have to test that, every grow room is not the same ,depends on ur set up as in fans and exhaust and wattage ,

I run a 3' x 3' x 8..5' small grow room with 750 watt bare bulb a double fan 10'' x 2 pushing straight up to the ceiling with 350 cfm fan exhausting,100% outside air (passive) and A/C passive when temps hit over 80 at night only when heat waves hit my area.

with my set up I can run the 750watt bulb as close as 7 inches away. my set up in in the round vert style.

I do also however have a DIY light fixture that is a simple 20 inch piece of 6'' round duct that houses the bulb socket at one end and half way up I installed one of those little computer fans and it really suck most of the heat rite up duct and my exhaust fan take it from there.

My room has stable 8 degree spread from the Ambient temp. and sometimes when needed I run a 400watt with the 750w that's a strain thing when needed on certain strains I run. and that will pick up another 5 degree In my room

No one can really tell you what you need to do or how close you can run (every room is not the same) So take your time and run test and figure it out.

I hear ya. If it makes any difference its 10' x 12' with 7' ceiling room in a Michigan basement. Chilled under current system, box fans under the lights, 2 oscillating stand fans kiddie cornered, sentinel chhc-4 running dehuey and ng co2, 9,000btu of mini split. It's run 2k and a 400 with out issues

I was more concerned about radiant heat (which I don't think is a issue I just think of how hot hoods can get) and any other potentials like I don't know, a frequency interference on start-up/operation. I plan on talking with hortilux on Monday and I'll check back in with the results.

I had the same concern when I run the 2 , at one point I was running both lights about 8 inches from each other with no problems , other then I think (not sure) but that run of plants did not stretch more then 2 inches .

Thanks ttystikk. It's funny I talked to hortilux and maybe it was just this one employee, but i was told they couldn't answer that and to ask the seller of thr bulb.<<< lol We'll keep the heat in check.

Wow, that guy was a fucking idiot, then. Who the fuck else are customers supposed to call with lighting specific questions?

That shit pisses me off- he's just being lazy.
