An indica strain will produce max couch lock high when about 75-90% of the triches have turned amber, not brown, amber. If you cut now you will certainly get nice and toasty but more of a head sativa like high. The choice is yours. I know you said no pic needed but, I never like to follow orders, anti-establishment all the way. LOL!

I said that all of the hairs have turned orange, not the trichomes. Thank's for the pic although i was refering to me not needing to put up a pic for my question lol.

If i cut now will it still be good weed? I only have 3 plants, its all for personal use and i want to be sure it is going to get me stoned without having to toke a lot of it.

The amber colouring is an indication of canabinoid production.

The cloudy state they're in right now will give a more uplifting high.

take a sample quick dry and smoke it. will taste like shit but the high should still be there

Like I aid, yes you will get nicely baked at this point. But if you are after the true indica high and you likely are since you chose an indica dominant strain, you should wait until the look amber as in the photo.

Good to know, so the high definitely won't let me down and leave me wanting more? I might just harvest 1 of the 3 plants for now!

My plants were being fed tapwater with a ridiculously high ph for half there life(amateur mistake) and the built up nutes in the soil were released when i gave the plants properly phd water. So the buds arent that big thanks to the deficincy and then the nute burn, so i wouldnt want to cut off any and waste more!

Here's my opinion on trichs:

First, you don't use them to tweak your buzz. Select the kind of high you want in the genetics you choose.

Second, ideally you'd harvest when every trich on the plant is cloudy and just about to turn amber. However this is impossible for two reasons: 1) you cannot predict when a trich will turn amber, and 2) not all parts of the plant reach peak ripeness at the same time.

So, we're reliant upon the first amber trichs to show to let us know that we're about there.

In answer to your question, OP, do not harvest based on the cloudiness alone because you can't tell if they're at peak ripeness. The cloudiness can last for several weeks on some strains (sativas especially), in some cases 5-6 weeks.

That's why the rule is cloudy WITH some amber, not just simply cloudy as you're approaching it. It's the amber that tells you you're close.
