Res Change Caused Plant to Wilt?

Hi All,

First time Post here! I'm hoping your wealth of knowledge can give me some reassurance.

I've been trying DWC for a few months now and am currently 4 weeks in to my second grow. She's been doing great until this morning when I found her very floppy!

I changed the res last night, which was around 26⁰c and pH 6.4, and have now switched from Canna Aqua Vega to Aqua Flores because she's showing the first signs of flowering, but the water was around 16⁰c (I'm terrible with ⁰F, sorry!) and when I checked the pH this morning it was 3.8, which I know is not good!

I've since changed the res again to 20⁰c pH 5.6 and increased the humidity in the tent to try and stop her from drying out.

I also thought it could be the water level as last night I replaced with 12l of solution, which is the same volume I've used every week without issue, but could it be that the roots have added volume so I've drowned her air roots..? So this morning I changed to 10l instead.

Does anyone have any idea what happened, and will the newest res change bring her back? Will she be okay? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Pics attached of last night to this morning, and a picture of the roots this morning, for reference.

Any updates?
PH 3.8 is WAY too acidic, that seems to be issue number one...any improvement now you are hopefully back in the correct PH range?

Secondary questions..

what are you using to airate the water...stones and a pump?
Whats the EC/concentration of your nute solution?

I would be curious how much the roots can handle in DWC when the pH goes insanely low like that... that's LOW... I've never even seen anything close to that in my "OH MY GOD!!" panic mode DWC pH issues.

To the OP... Go back to what was working if nothing else. There is a MASSIVE amount of BS around "flowering" nutes. Canna makes a big deal about having pH stabilizers in their stuff. You may have a bad bottle and are poisoning your plants.
I also have real problems with companies that don't even tell you what's in their products.

Thanks for the replies guys!

As an update, after changing the res to a better pH and a bit of time some of the branches had started to perk up, but the bulk of her growth had gone crispy from stopping drinking for so long.

I decided it best to restart from seed to better make use of the time (hopefully at least).

I use a 2" air stone and pump, and have also now gotten a larger tent to better accommodate the growth, and I'm much more particular on the pH now!

In case you wanted to see, here's a picture of "Baby B", taken last night, 10 days in from sprouting

Thanks, I've been top feeding whilst waiting for the roots to find the water so will make sure to do so a bit more frequently.
