Resinous Male?

I am looking for some info/opinions on this male. It's in rough shape, and is currently being revegged. I am mainly curious as to others experience with a male busting nuts out of what appears to be trichome covered calyxes. It's super terpy too. 20230428_103431.jpg

it is not uncommon for males to have trichs when they flower. Just usually nothing like females. If he meets your preferences use him, maybe use him on some ladies and try to collect and preserve some pollen if you plan to kill him off.. I know I would at least to see how his offspring come out.

What strain?

It is (lava cake X the mac) X grape stomper from legendary genetics. The cross is really bushy to a fault. The females from the cross have been really grapey smelling too. The smells range from fresh berries to grape candy. Very good smelling, but not the best structure wise. Definitely a cross that needs a little work.
I have seen one other picture of a male that is similar, it is a NL2 from Todd McCormick at authentic genetics. He has a pic on his website.
I have saved some pollen. It has real grapey terms. I have a handful of seeds that came from some different females next to it. I am definitely going to hold on to it, at least until I get a chance to see how the babies turn out. I hope it won't be a bunch of females with bananas popping out of the calyxes. But for sure, I will be making some seeds with it.

I wouldn’t expect nanners if they were pollinated by this plant, this one looks to be a true male not a herm.. assuming the females were the same strain you just made f2’s!

Thanks AlphaGG. That's good to know that you don't think it looks like a hermie.
For picking a male, I usually like to grow out a portion of the seeds and see what the final product is. Then the next time I run the seeds I look for the smells and structure that most closely resembles the best of my first run. Then try to pollinate the better females with the males that make the cut, the more the better. So far that had been working pretty good. I have never popped a male that has stacked like this little guy yet. But it is different enough that the results could be surprising. But I agree waterproof808, everything is speculation until you pop those babies.
