Dude that site is AWSOME! I actually just bought one lol +rep
Sweet let us know what your ppm is comming out of the unit to see if it is more adventageous to use than R.O.
I also have water that comes out of the outside spigot at 1900 ppm and didn't even bother with inside because it goes through the softener "Death by sodium"
So I use the R.O. unit that is under the sink that came with the house. My landlord had said something like, "You just need to pull those filters out and rinse them out.", which is not a feasible way of changing the filter. Anyways, it reads right around 100 out of the R.O. unit which I will take over my other options. One of those would be to haul water from one of the local R.O. units they have set up around town for .20 to .25 a gallon.
R.O. all the way for me. It usually will make 4 gallons in a few hours, but I want to say it does a gallon an hour which really isn't that bad. I have roughly a 5 and a 20 to 30 gallon rez that I have to change out. I use a few old milk jugs and fill them up throughout the day and transfer them into a few 5 gallon bucks with lids I have 'downstairs'. I then have valves set on both of my rez's that let me pump water out of them to which i attach a 1/2 flexible line I run up the stairs.
For my broken back I feared having to haul soil and water so opted to go with hydro and have no regets as of yet. Only thing I would like to have it two 55 gallon plastic drums to store fresh and dirty water in so that I can choose when I want to pump it out into the yard. I would just use on of the many aquarium pumps I have lying around to keep them circulated and fresh for when I'm ready to use them.
