Giuliani hires attorneys who defended Harvey Weinstein
Ex-Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani in the case related to the FBI raid of his apartment last month has hired two lawyers who worked on disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein’s defense team.
According to Wednesday court filings, attorneys Arthur Aidala and Barry Kamins notified the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York that they were appearing on behalf of Giuliani.

Weinstein, who is currently serving a more than two-decade sentence in prison, has appealed his case, arguing that his jury was not impartial.

You would think Rudy would want to pick some winners for his team. Could almost need a landscaping company to defend him.

To be fair, those lawyers did a great job. They negotiated Weinstein out of all but two charges. He was facing over 30 at one point.

Still does not change the fact Harvey will be walking funny for some time in the future.

Hey Rudy check for oil leaks while yer under the bus!

Rudy was deeply involved in a lot of things Donald did including the insurrection and is the lynch pin in nailing Trump's ass for a host of crimes. Donald is going away for life (his remaining life) for NY state crimes and the feds don't really need Rudy except to nail Donald really good for conspiracy to commit insurrection. That would be his only value, testifying against Trump, Pompeo, Barr and others. Also, Rudy could make a PSA as part of his plea deal confessing the big lie to mitigate his crimes and the damage done to the country. He'd better hope the feds wanna buy what he's gonna want to sell, namely a bunch of corrupt assholes including Trump.

Rudy might die before his trial or before he can testify though, I figure the stress will kill the fucker

Rudy Giuliani complains he’s being treated like drug cartel head amid reports Trump has abandoned him

Former mayor of New York reportedly under investigation for work in Ukraine during Trump presidency

Rudy Giuliani has complained he is being treated like the head of a drug cartel head amid reports that Donald Trump has abandoned him.

Lawyers for Mr Giuliani have condemned prosecutors for the 28 April raid by FBI agents on his New York home and criticised them for gaining electronic access to his accounts.

The former Mayor of New York’s legal team made the strong criticism in a letter filed on Monday on his behalf.

“Unfortunately for Giuliani, and even more unfortunately for the attorney-client privilege and executive deliberation privilege, and the public’s perception that those privileges are real, the SDNY simply chose to treat a distinguished lawyer as if he was the head of a drug cartel or a terrorist, in order to create maximum prejudicial coverage of both Giuliani, and his most well-known client – the former President of the United States,” it stated.

The letters comes amid reports that Mr Trump and his inner circle are reluctant to help Mr Giuliani during his legal difficulties, reports The Daily Beast.

Federal prosecutors are looking at whether Mr Giuliani’s work in Ukraine while Mr Trump was in the White House amounted to illegal and unregistered lobbying for foreign individuals.

“It’s a question now of whether or not [the former president and his team] want to leave Rudy to fend for himself or if they’re going to take a stand against this. Right now, we don’t know,” one person close to Mr Giuliani told the outlet.

Two sources told The Daily Beast that Mr Trump has expressed sympathy for Mr Giuliani’s legal issues but has not yet committed to helping out his personal lawyer.

Another insider told them that Mr Giuliani has said he is convinced that when he needs him Mr Trump will step up.

Meanwhile federal prosecutors have asked the US Southern District of New York to appoint a special master to make sure that no evidence protected under attorney-client privilege is released in the case.

Mr Giuliani’s lawyers claims that such a request is a “do over” after prosecutors did not get one for the 2019 seizure of his iCloud account.

His lawyers argue that 2019 search was “certainly used in some part to secure the 2021 largely duplicative search warrant.”

His legal team has asked a federal judge to halt the appointment of the special master in the 2021 warrant to give them more time to review the evidence supporting the 2019 search.

The lawyers claim that the prosecutors waited until Joe Biden was in the White House and “senior members of the Justice Department had been removed and replaced by Biden appointees” to carry out the April raid.

Prosecutors have not charged Mr Giuliani with any crime. He has vigorously denied any wrongdoing.

Trump will come in just at the last moment with a pardon for Rudy. In 2025.

Trump Aides Believed Giuliani Was a Drunk and Borderline Senile: Book (businessinsider.com)

Trump's aides believed Rudy Giuliani was always buzzed, 'in the mumble tank,' and on the verge of becoming senile, new book says

  • Trump aides thought Giuliani was "in the mumble tank" and on the cusp of senility, a new book said.
  • They thought he was "always buzzed," with "focus issues, memory problems," and "simple logic failures."
  • But Giuliani enjoyed unlimited access to Trump as he told him what he wanted to hear, the book said.
Former President Donald Trump's advisors believed that his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was usually drunk and on the verge of senility, according to "Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency," by Michael Wolff.

"Giuliani was, many around Trump believed, always buzzed if not, in the phrase Steve Bannon made famous in the Trump White House, hopelessly 'in the mumble tank,'" Wolff wrote in the book, an early copy of which Insider obtained. "Many believed he had the beginnings of senility: focus issues, memory problems, simple logic failures. A vast disorganization of papers and files and tech malfunctions followed in his wake."

The book said that Giuliani's weight had "ballooned" and that "his popping eyes and poorly dyed hair made him seem like a pre-television age character, a past-his-time and gone-to-seed former official hanging around the courthouse steps regaling anyone who will listen with tall tales and wild theories of the shameful secrets and gothic underbelly of politics."

Wolff wrote that Giuliani's life "seemed to be singularly sustained by his being on television."

Giuliani's longtime personal assistant did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and texts to multiple phone numbers associated with the former New York mayor went unanswered.

Wolff's reporting about the Trump administration in his 2018 book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" drew sharp scrutiny after fact-checkers found that many of the details in it didn't add up. Wolff stood by the book and has said that "Landslide" features only episodes confirmed by Trump's staffers and backed up by multiple sources.

The book said Trump's advisors worked hard to restrict, if not cut off, Giuliani's access to Trump in the wake of his blunders during Robert Mueller's investigation and Trump's first impeachment. "There was not just concern over Rudy in the West Wing, but deep resentment and even hatred of him," Wolff wrote.

"'Everything Rudy has touched in the four years of this presidency,' said [Trump advisor] Matt Morgan in disgust one afternoon as the election challenge began to unfold, 'has gone bad,'" the book said. "You would have been hard pressed to find anyone in Trumpworld who had not thought or said as much."

Despite their best efforts, Trump's aides couldn't block Giuliani from showing up at the White House, especially after Trump's election loss, and he often enjoyed unfettered access to the Oval Office because he was "willing to tell Trump not only that he could do whatever he wanted to do, but that he could go beyond this" and "offered Trump vastly more power, right, and discretion than even Trump himself thought possible," the book said.

That relationship wasn't always equal; according to Wolff's reporting, Trump often criticized Giuliani even though the 77-year-old former New York City mayor was one of his most loyal disciples.

During one conversation with a caller shortly after the 2020 election, Wolff wrote, Trump said Giuliani drank too much and often said things that weren't true.

"But Rudy would fight," the book said. "He could be counted on to fight even when others wouldn't. And, too, he would work for free."

The Wall Street Journal's Michael Bender painted a similar picture of Trump and Giuliani's imbalanced relationship in his latest book, "Frankly, We Did Win This Election: The Inside Story of How Trump Lost."

Trump routinely mocked Giuliani for falling asleep during meetings and gave him harsh feedback on his TV interviews, telling him he "sucked" and was "weak," Bender reported.

Giuliani, for his part, no longer serves as Trump's personal attorney. He's made headlines in recent months in connection with a criminal investigation into whether he violated foreign lobbying laws. And an appellate division of the New York Supreme Court recently suspended his law license, pending review, after finding "uncontroverted evidence" that he "communicated demonstrably false and misleading statements to courts, lawmakers and the public at large" about the 2020 election results.

Giuliani's lawyers slammed the ruling as "unprecedented," and the former New York mayor defended himself to reporters outside his Manhattan apartment last month.

"How can they say I lied without a hearing? They haven't questioned me," he said.

On Wednesday, an appeals court in Washington, DC, also suspended Giuliani from practicing law in the district.

Rudy Giuliani Was so Drunk He Almost Smashed White House China: Wolff (businessinsider.com)

Rudy Giuliani was so 'incredibly drunk' on election night that Trump aides worried he'd smash valuable White House china, Michael Wolff says

  • Rudy Giuliani was "incredibly drunk" on election night, according to biographer Michael Wolff.
  • Trump aides worried that the former New York City mayor would smash valuable White House china, Wolff said.
  • Giuliani was "always buzzed" and Trump had concerns about his drinking, Wolff claims in his new book.
Rudy Giuliani was so drunk on election night that former President Donald Trump's aides were concerned he'd accidentally smash valuable White House china, presidential biographer Michael Wolff told MSNBC.

Wolff described how on the night of November 3, 2020, the former New York City mayor was struggling to maintain his balance while trying to convince others that Trump had won re-election.

At one point, he was pulled aside into the White House's china room by several aides of the former president, Raw Story reported. "And at that moment, Rudy was incredibly drunk, weaving this way and that way," Wolff told MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell on Friday afternoon.

"And the china, those place settings from every president are very valuable, and Trump's aides were obviously, or rightfully, concerned about what Giuliani was saying to the president about the election, and giving him this misinformation," Wolff continued. "But they were also concerned that he was going to break the china."

Wolff then elaborated that Giuliani was "really drunk."

According to Wolff's new book, "Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency," Trump aides thought Giuliani was "always buzzed" or "hopelessly in the mumble tank."

Trump once said in the days following the November 2020 election that Giuliani drank too much and often said things that weren't true, Insider's Sonam Sheth reported.

Wolff's new book makes other bombshell allegations. Trump's close associates believed the former president was "off his rocker," Wolff also wrote.
