Ruined my first harvest, Need a lil advice on my next one coming up.

So I ruined my first harvest by having a 3x3 dry tent in the same room as flower. Used a Portable A/C inside the tent that was throwing way too much air and condensation. Ruined my harvest. I cared more about getting my tent to 60 degrees than I did about the air that was getting thrown right on the buds. Horrible smoke dried in 3 days.

I have my next batch coming up in a week and I need a lil help on how to dry properly.

First things first I have a small 800sqf home and I'm gonna wall off a part of my dining area (Maybe a 5x5 or 6x6) where I have a window so I can put in a window A/C unit (I took back the portable).

I have a Dehu that I can put in so I can have it at 60%Rh.


I think the only thing left is how to wall off the 6x6 area. I was thinking about using just plain Tarp from walmart and wood to make a ghetto tent? I have no idea how but I'm sure I can manage. I have seen some other types of foam insulation type stuff that comes in squares and has reflection of some sort? I don't know the name sorry.

Ohh and also do I need an inline fan if I already have an A/C for my area? I feel like having an A/C plus inline will dry it out too quick. I have no idea though maybe I need both?


What say you rollitup? Any ideas how I can make a Ghetto dry tent? Any pics of cool dry setups you can share? Any help would be appreciated thanks you.

One thing I thought of is that window AC units usually dehumidify at the same time, so be really careful running that in such a small space, might take the RH down fast.

I'll keep an eye out and if it goes down I have plenty of towels and buckets of water to bring it back up if I can lol.

Put you inline fan, and/ or ac on a humidity controller?

I have been putting it off but I'm sure I need to just get one. I heard Inkbird is a good one. I'm at the end of my grow and funds are low. I guess I need to just bite the bullet.

My place is about half your sq ft. I keep it around 71 degrees in the summer, 73 in the winter. 10 degrees in temperature drop for drying isnt worth the energy and hassle to me. I focus my efforts on humidity. Set my dehumidifier at 55, and hang the WeDryer near by. Ive got a piece of 6" ducting attached to the intake hole of the dryer, and it hangs down to the height the air is blowing out of the dehumidifier. The dryer has a fan pulling air up and out from the top. Seems like it's around 7-10 days in the dryer, depending on nug size.

Forget the A/C, forget the dehumidifier, I've found that the best way to dry your plants is in the tent that they were grown in.
For example, when I finish a crop, I hang it up in the tent I grew it in, turning off the inline fans (and any other ventilation), with the top of the tent remaining unzipped about 20%.
Leaving the actual pots of soil in the tent can help prevent the buds from drying out too quickly which is most new growers biggest foe when drying.
All of this was learned from first hand experience.

Even terrible smoke can be turned into tincture! Good luck with the next round!

65f, 60rh, some air movement but not directly at the weed. whatever it takes to maintain for 10-14 days. If it’s warm and you use ac it removes the humidity causing weed to dry in 3 days.
I have a 8x4 tent I hang my weed in, in a small insulated shed. I keep the shed at 65f with a roll around ac. The tent carbon filter fan provides air movement. 2 humidifiers are needed in the tent to maintain 60rh. The slower the better, do this right and you can skip the silly jar burping.

We’re gonna need a bigger box

meat lockers getting full. Still got 7 cows to slaughter out in the garden.

But yeah you can get a wardrobe box pretty cheap with a hanger bar..

I've seen entire rooms filled with cardboard boxes drying.

Lady grower I met swears by brown paper bags.
