Runtz try three

I'll need to increase frequency because these cups don't hold much water. The soil isn't really packed.

I checked out Terracotta pots. They are $25.00+ not including saucers.
If you are experiencing the water leak right out through the bottom when you water them, that is most likely not because the cups/soil don't hold much water that is because your soil has become hydrophobic.

Water slowly, if you intend to water 3oz give it 1oz at a time in order to better saturate the soil. You could also get/use soap, yucca, aloe or a few other things as a wetting agent to help your water better saturate your soil.

Can also let them sit in a tray of water for 30 min to suck water up.

3 ounces doesn't leak right out, but any more will leak right out.

I estimate 30% of the bottoms of the cups are removed because of the drill holes. I used a 1/2" drill bit.

Needless to say I'm not going w/Terracotta.

I would definitely not go with terra cotta pots, especially if your humidity is only 36%. Plastic is perfectly fine.

As others said, it seems like you need to be adding more water at a time. Dry soil can hold at least 1/4 to 1/3 its volume in water. Seriously, do not be afraid to let them just sit in a tray of water 1/2" deep and soak it up for an hour or two. It will not hurt them, and then you can be reasonably sure they are completely saturated after that.

Good call everyone. Basically I added 3 ounces water each and only had a little runoff. Like maybe 2 ounce from all three. So I added 3 more ounces and now they all seem saturated and heavy. They'll continue to soak for 30 minutes or so.

The humidity is higher when the tent is closed up. As soon as I open the tent the humidity is gone and I have to open the tent to take pictures. It's winter here. Normally the low RH is in the low 40s.

I'll need to tune the humidifier. What humidity should I be shooting for?
