Rusty brown spots spreading..

Hi guys, have done a fair amount of research, but can’t seem to figure out what’s going on. Got two plants that are showing some rusty spots, that spread / get worse over time. Eventually the leaf curls up and becomes very brittle. I feed only FF big bloom, and water every two days or so. I flushed a week ago and added some dolamite lime as a top dress. Watered for the first time yesterday (since the flush). I believe my ph is low (watering closer to 6, and possibly a little below); have since adjusted up closer to 7 (using the colored ph test, so it’s not an exact science lol).

interested to get your opinions, hoping I can still get a good harvest!!

Make WSC - gather a few dozen eggshells, crush them up, use a cast iron pan to 'cook' them for a while until they turn dark tan coloured with a bit of black, then use vinegar (best is brown rice vinegar, but i have a hard time finding it so i use apple cider), put the eggshells in a large container then a fill 1/4 way to start, it will bubble a fuckton, then fill 2/3 after the head dies down. cover with a papertowel and an elastic band, let that sit in a dark, room temperature place until you don't see anymore bubbles, takes at least 4-5 days, give it a bit of a stir every day or so. Then strain and you have liquid calcium. Dilute to 1:1000 so about 3/4 tsp per gallon.

Thats good for like 2 weeks from now lol so use calmat until then bongsmilie

All good suggestions, I got one to throw in, have you scoped for bugs? And yeah you're way heavy in the nitrogen department.

Thanks for all of the input. For soil I forgot exactly what I used but believe it’s a mix of perlite, peat moss, and some soil? Followed some recommendation for autoflower soil online.

I initially thought it was a cal/mag deficiency due to lock out, but agree adding in suplimemts is a good idea.When I flushed the plant I tested the run off from the first drippings, was way low… like 4/5. I decided it was probably just nute lockout and flushed with ph balanced water, and am monitoring it on a go forward basis (still showing low). From what I read cal/mag should help with that, so definitely will do that (was going to try to stay organic, but at this point I just need results and don’t want to waste all the time and effort put in this far).

intersting point on the nitrogen. Leaves are really dark green, so guess that makes sense. Any quick tips on bringing that down?

Oh and no bugs. Have had a few outdoor grows and am familiar with those. I did however consider it to be some kind of fungus, but really think it’s a ph / nutrient issue

pH drop test kits are more than accurate enough for growing plants.

Then be prepared. If you give cal mag and it worsens or continues immediately consider phosphorus deficiency. The two are often related and can appear alike early on. Figure out what you'll want to use.

I’m thinking I flush the plants again, let them get bone dry, hit them with a light dose of cal /mag and hope for the best? Idk how the nitrogen become an issue, cause I’ve only given it big bloom… soil must just be hot in nitrogen I guess?

First picture is of the first plant, was kind of a runt. Attached a pic of the second plant, which is much larger, and experiencing less symptoms (also about a week or so behind)

I thought this was a possibility too, but have been feeding them big bloom, which has phosphorus… thinking I fed it too often and now my ph is messed up and it’s locking our cal/mag

Do not flush. That's part of why you're where you are. Just use straight water.

Yeah. No more nitrogen but you aren't feeding. So just keep going. Nitrogen is the most quickly depleted element. Straight water for at least two times. Water by weight. Do not let medium get really dry. Use the right volume of liquid. 25% of the container volume every time. Again by weight so you don't overwater.

While we are at it, any thoughts on why the bud sites are so small? It’s my first grow… thinking these are about a month out? Sprouted from the ground at the end of oct (gorilla glue auto from ILGM)

it’s my first grow, sotrying to get a feel for it.

Had the same spots recently. Spots and splotches came first followed by the telltale yellowing between veins. 1/2 doses of calmag and no more spots found. Mine was in veg and only found on large lower fan leaves. Removed the affected leaves but not sure if it was necessary to.
